apart from here and other places i post, anyone know other good websites for hearing about upcoming releases and new music before the masses trample all over them? sometimes i feel im a bit behind and would like to stay more up to date, even a good mailing list would be good...

anyone?

you should just sign up to a few websites that sell house music... they usually send out emails more than once a week with details of new releases etc. but it gets annoying! You can listen to clips of the tracks aswell, so you will be able to listen to the most recent releases & promos and decide what you thinks going to be big ;) ;)

www.htfr.co.uk
www.globalgroove.co.uk
www.juno.co.uk

even better... there are lots of mp3 download sites these days, and have some brilliant tracks... you can listen to samples of the tracks and the sites usually have chart sections and most popular etc.

www.beatport.com
www.djdownload.com
www.traxsource.com
www.xpressbeats.com
www.trax2burn.com

and just look on other forums like defected / godskitchen etc. Lots of djs put up links to their mixes with tracklists and are usually really good

hope this helps :)

thanks man, ive already signed up for a tonne of labels newsletters and yeah they do get annoying! i hadnt thought of signing up for actual retailers updates though. thanks for the links though, i'll be checking them out tomorrow (may need to set up a new gmail account to cope though!)

ive always relied on forums but im finding it can be a bit hit and miss, although most of the music i find out about at the moment is through this site and pete tongs forums.

your best bet for up and coming records is the radio.
Check the Radio One shows, plus internet radio, or live dj sets.

Come on Stu! most Friday's I aint doing anything im listening to Radio 1. but I dont have all the time in the world to keep tuned to the radio for hours as much as Id like to. Im forever downloading dj's mixes, hence why you'll see me going for every single one anyone offers out!

I appreciate the suggestion though. Im loving Annie Mac recently (how i wish that was literally 8O cause she fine 8) )

I really wish there was more time in the week to chase up more netradio, but Im usually out doing other things all week, im a lazy bastid and am looking for updated lists of new tunes. Although in saying that, tracklists of radio shows are always good :D

BARTONIOUS off this board would put most people to shame with the sheer size of his collection of live sets! He's usually who I'll go to for a recomendation, although he baffles me with his genre talk 8O

I always do a monthly chart post on here and DSI - you'll find the regulars on those boards have very very upfront tastes.

unfortunately mate, there's no easy way of keeping up to date with new records, it's a trainspotters paradise and takes up a huge amount of time !

Keep an eye on the Buzz / Hype charts (usually at dmcupdate or in DJ Mag), as they are all the records that dj's who send back charts, are playing.

The Global Underground message board has a dedicated tracklistings page for many live mixes. Unfortunately lots of A-list dj's are playing tracks that aren't even signed, let alone due for release, so you can often be waiting an age to find out the name of something !
