Tune Tom Novy dropped on Sunday...

What IS the name of that tune that's being doing the rounds this summer. You know... the one with the Chicago-style piano breakdown, very late eighties/early nineties feel, with a really good build-up.

Tom Novy dropped it on the terrace at the closing party at Space. It was the first track that he got everyone to sit down to before the big crescendo, etc. and got everyone pogo-ing. And also the guy with the violin played over it earlier.

Nope, 'fraid not! Good track though :)....

It's not got any vocals, just a really repetitive build up, basically made up of a piano and string-synth. And it's been played quite a bit on the isle this summer.

Man, this is soooo bugging me!

i remember exactly the one you mean, dieter sin plomo played it earlier with the violin guy....

sorry, but tom novy is rubbish. i've seen him twice now, and he was just rubbish. my opinion obviously...

I'm glad somebody else thinks this - I could not believe how bad he was when I saw him at Space. Track selection was awful and his mixing was worse.
 
Got It!!! "Rhythm is Rhythm - Strings of Life" as Sr. Seancupthera quite rightly identified!! Nice one!! Got hold of 4 different remixes... Really fun tune!!! Got the feeling this might get severly overplayed during the long nights of winter......

And as for Mr. Novy - the juries still out for me, but who was that complete and utter plank he had with him in the DJ booth - anyone know how much it costs these days to hire an ex-KGB marksman for a bit of DJ-groupie culling ????

You sure it wasnt the Soul Central version (Danny Krivit or Mark knight & Marten tjen Velden mixes) that has been getting the plays this summer and is due to be released on Defected
 
Positive! The "Soul Central" version has also been getting play-time this summer, but it wasn't the one I was looking for...

Having listened to every remix going of "Strings of Life" by various artists/plagiarists, I'm as certain as I can be that it's the "Plank 15" remix from 2001 of the "Rhythm is Rhythm" version that was the one that got played on Sunday on the terrace. I think I've got "strings-build-up" overdose!!!
