Tubes

Could whoever keeps vandalising the Central line between Ealing Broadway and North Acton please stop - it's been 3 bloody weeks in a row and it's not funny anymore

Meanwhile Ken is trying to force us all onto them. I will never give up my car, (although I will buy something greener when I sell it) because public transport is crap, unless you're a tourist using tubes off-peak.

the best long term solution is to rip the whole thing out and start again, building it to a size which will cope with increasing passenger numbers over the next 50 years instead of doing the cheap short term fixs.

You wouldn't say the same if you spend a month in Barcelona dealing with the public transport. And the previsions are great, in 2018 Barcelona will be a megamassive permanent traffic jam if 400.000 people don't leave their car-bike-mopped and take the public transports :?

We thought the tubes and public transport were great when we visited barca. It was clean, spacious, ran like clockwork. 1000 times better than london public transport.

After since I said to you 'I'm so glad we've got the Central Line from Ealing cos it's the most reliable one' it's been falling apart

Oh yeah i forgot you said that.lol..

Couldn't believe it this morn when i heard the station was vandalised again!

Were you on in rush hour though Rob? I got a tube in the middle of day the week I got back to London and it was fine. Then a met someone for a late lunch and got the tube back to the 'burbs at 5.30pm and it as hell on earth.

in the last couple of months or so, ive started using the bus much more than the tube. they are much more reliable, plus you don't have to spend time in those dingy stations. I can get the No 4 from outside my door and am in soho in less than 20mins

not much use getting into town from ealing (or billericay) admitedly!!

They are brand new and comfy, but that was august and 3/4 of the population was on holidays.
The problem is that there are few lines and too many places where the tube doesn't arrive. From some areas, you need about 1,5 hours to arrive to the center, and that's lots for a city like Barcelona, which isn't too big
Also, the trains that take people from greater BCN are the ones who get less inversion in the last 15 years so it's quite pathetic at the mo

I hate the tubes! The bike is the best way to get around London 8) (if you like getting soaking wet, that is! oh and having near deaths, but the plus side you get a firm bottom)

True - The central line going east from bond st is in fact hell on earth doing rush hour.

i hate the central line with a passion. Its old, rickety and cramped. Location wise is good of course but i try and walk if i can... if the weather permits :D

Don't know how you FLT ers cope with the Underground. I was in London most of last week and the Tube did my head in, specially the Picadilly line with the poky wee trains and having to push my way in after failing to get on the first train :spank:

Some stations are way too warm even in November - think I would pass out in the summer months 8O

wac wac.

a proper underground service designed for 21st century users. ;)

both trains and stations are airconditioned 365 days a year. clean, affordable, and reliable.

even in the rush hour, its a damn sight more comfortable than londons...
