Trip to Mainland?

Coming to Ibiza for the first time in late August (Cala Tarida) with 2 kids (ages 1 and 3) and will be renting a car to explore the island but quite fancy a one day trip to the mainland (Valencia) as I used to live nearby (Castellon de la plana) and fancied checking out some of the old places I used to go. Does anyone have any info on ferries to the mainland... times, prices, how long it takes? I really want to go but I have a feeling it's not the sort of trip I can do in a single day :cry:
 
i wouldn't do it. too much hassle for just one day, especially with your kids. if you're staying on the island long enough you might consider an overnight trip? then it might work out. else - enjoy your first trip to ibiza - there's loads to explore here! :D
 
Thanks for the reply. I think you're probably right. I guess I would consider an overnight stay depending on ferry times and prices etc. On the other hand I think I'll have plenty to do in Ibiza despite not being a party animal (that's why we chose Cala Tarida)! It just seems a shame that we will be so close yet so far from my old haunts.
 
trasmediterranea run daily to vlc from san an from 15/6. though you can only do from vlc return in a day.

thanks Steven. Just checked their website and I think unless there are other companies that travel at different times then its a no go :( Looks like we'd have to spend 2 nights on the mainland with this company :( Will look forward to all the amazing things to see and do in Ibiza me thinks :)
 
Maybe fly? I went to Barcelona a month back, flew to ibiza for the day, it was £35 return all in and only took 40 mins
 
Found flights at an average of £42 each :) £45 with two nights room only!!! Thanks for the pointer jackmontadon:p
 
No worries :) i first thought of the ferries but they take forever and aren't cheap, went for flights and couldn't believe the price! Have an amazing time :)
