travel question

I'll be 15 nights through amsterdam, prague and ibiza starting june 23rd. I am thinking to bring my new laptop. Should I be on the look out for some special kind of electric converter? I once went to europe with an old girlfriend and her hair dryer fried up from the converter we had used back then. I would just DIE if my laptop fried. Any advice on which converters are the best and most reliable for protecting electronics??? of course... i'll have to charge the ipod too!

Most laptop power cords come ready for international travel, i.e. the power block in the middle of the cord is rated for 120-240V so it can handle both N. America (~120V) and Europe (~220V). Still, best to double check - it'll be written right on the back of that block.

You will need a plug adapter... easily obtained in the airport on your way.

yup... input: 100-240v ~ 1.5A(1,5A) 50-60Hz

So... it seems I would not need any additional protection, am I right?

Thanks for the feedback!

Protection? From wha'? Ze Germans?

Sorry, it was too tempting. No you do not need any converters, however, if it will make you sleep better, take a surge protector with you.
