TRASH TIENDA, a facebook group set up as much in an attempt to empty those bulging wardrobes as create an Ibiza girly online shopping community over the Ibiza winter months, has accumulated some 275 members buying, selling and swapping their unwanted clothes and cool bits over the course of this, its first Ibiza winter. Swapsies have been all the rage, ONOs have been accepted, pocket money has been made, and most importantly, new friends and shopping buddies have surfaced.
So, just before summer kicks in, and in collaboration with Ibiza's finest sushi restaurant, Sushiya Aoyama, we're taking Trash Tienda to Plaza sa Drassaneta this Saturday for a buy/sell/swap meet of FIX Ibiza characteristics.
Our aim with the project has been to select garments of some reasonable standard, steering away from the usual selection of washed out t-shirts (for the most part, at least!). Items have to be decent and labels are loved, if only for the bargain factor! Max Mara, Gucci, Carvela, Alexander McQueen, D&G, Bimba & Lola, Kickers, Pepa loves, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Fake London, Karen Millen, Ray Ban amongst high street brands including Top Shop, H&M, Zara, Blanco…all these and more at Trash Tienda on Saturday.
Accompanied by the springtime music of Le Fleur as well as a variety of Japanese and other activities from Waibiza and Aavib (Visual Artists Association), including Bonsai Demonstration and Kamishiba (Story Telling), this is gearing up to be a lovely, sunny Saturday, reminiscent of 2012's Plaza de Arte in the same location- but this time with clothes!!
In order to keep our strength up for shopping, Sushiya Aoyama will open its Japanese doors on Saturday at 12-2.30pm, with a tantalizing menu for the occasion comprising of yakisoba (6€) y onigiri (3€). The island's outstanding sushi bar will also be donating a % of their profits to the Fukishima fund, a cause close to Chef Hideki Aoyama's own heart.
