Touching Emotional Goodbyes from Ibiza

When it's time to leave Ibiza and you take one last look around before heading to the airport. Get's me every time. Do you get emotional when it's time to go? As we prepared to leave the Sun was setting. The music playing on the speakers was 'Forever Young' - Alphaville. As the minibus took us away I think everyone had a tear in their eye.

Photos I captured as we said goodbye to Ibiza 2017.

I'm still coming to grips with leaving from my trip 7 weeks ago...Like an addict I tried to not look back but eventually I start trolling the forums, putting price watches on flights and scouring parties and beaches I must go back for. It's a vicious cycle.

Yep, I'm still in the emotional phase almost 4 weeks later!! Really trying to find every way possible to get back in September but the closer it gets the more I worry it's not going to happen!

Changed my flight and took a day to come to terms with leaving before heading home this time - first time ever. Despite (or maybe because of) no drugs, no redbulls and a total of one single (small) beer over one dinner all trip ( o_O ) I got very emotional yesterday morning. So it hits you just as much without booze or drugs as with them, just maybe not for quite so long !

It was cloudy with rain predicted and my mood was swinging all over the place in and out of horrendous depression, how I managed to even check out I'm still trying to work out. Got kicked out of hotel at noon and went to Cala Carbo, somewhere I always feel "safe" and have hidden out many times, but it took me 2 hours from arriving at the car park to leave the car and head to the beach - what a state - never been that bad before. Ever. Couple of hours snorkelling off the rocks and I was totally sorted by 5pm, and reconciled to going home. Even managed to swing by a rooftop party at Hard Rock watching planes take off and some lightning in the distance before returning the hire car at the airport and not get sad. I'll see soon whether it lasts !!

Have had a couple of radge flights home, one tinky woman across the aisle from us got lifted on arrival in glasgow one year having sunk most of her duty free and calling her 15 year old daughter out for being a slag at the top of her voice then getting abusive with the flight attendants and other passengers trying to calm her down/ telling her to shut her puss. All this straight from an after hours morning session at Extasis where I was trance dancing on a podium a couple of hours earlier nearly missing my flight.

were you on sparkling water the whole time?

So to speak, yep. Alternating coca cola and bottled water at Clockwork, few smoothies and endless Lipton Ice Tea and water out and about. I had a small beer with a steak dinner and sank an Ushuaia-sized bottle of beer at Hard Rock 9th just before going home. The only drugs I took were zantac and Imodium, thanks be to god for both . How times change !

RYE is spot on. Unless you've slowly nursed a lukewarm burger king on the edge of tears at the airport it could be argued that you've not really done ibiza.

I've never had time to nurse a lukewarm anything at the airport - by the time I make it through security it's usually final boarding call

I am a longtime lurker (2003), first post. Had to comment as this has been my experience. My first trip to ibiza in 03 was essentially a three day sleepless hangover. If I honestly reflect it was not a good trip, but I felt so sad getting on the plane and I didnt understand it at the time.

Yes it is.... I am creepy like that. In all seriousness, I tried to get a login back in 2010, but was never authorized. I love the island and have been 4x since, but unfortunately living in the Caribbean makes an annual trip cost prohibitive.

I booked a trip back for June 2018 just last month and the nostalgia took over, so I needed an outlet. Fortunately I was approved.
