Ok, I'm hoping to have my most interesting year in ibiza yet this year. My last trip was great, finally getting to space and pacha, and salinas and benirras. So, to see what I still need to do, what are your fave 10 see's and do's in ibiza. and try not to make them ALL clubbing related. Also is there any secret beaches worth knowing about? Thanks

Yes Formentera is a must do and don't forget to get your kit off! 8O

I also like Cala Salada which is quite difficult to find but worth it when you eventually get there.

Many people like Cala d'Hort but i don't think it's that special at all. Except for the dangerous pursuit of discovering Atlantis :?

Wandering around d'alt villa in the day and also around the marina makes a change from lying on the beach all day.

Santa Eulalia never seems to get a mention, yet it is far prettier than Ibiza or San Antonio (which is not pretty at all) and it stays awake all year round too. Sit outside the Royalty or Cosmi opposite the town hall and watch the world go by, wander down restaurant street in the evening or the Puerto Deportivo at any time. Then in the early hours go to Guarana and get hammered.

Also try lunch in Santa Gertrudis - Ullivans does probably the best tapas around. And the Casi Todo cafe does the nicest salads that I've ever had.

Santa Eulalia is beautiful - I would buy property up there if I am ever lucky enough to be able to afford a holiday home in Ibiza. The north of the Island is beautiful, rugged and totally unspoilt there are great little beaches up there too. I like to spent time on Xarraca and Xuclar. Cala Longa is another lovely resort for a day out - beautiful beach! If you read through some of the reviews from posters you will find a whole host of great places to see and fab beaches to explore. Its quite nice to walk around the marina next to El Divino and check out the yachts and daydream....mmmmmm

1. a meal in santa eulalia (c'an pere cellar or ca na ribes)
2. a meal in d'alt vila (la oliva)
3. sea food and sangria at benirras - my fave beach
4. snorkelling at port de torrent - mediocre beach, huge fish.
5. ibiza town at night d'alt vila/ shopping/ the bars on the harbour.

Hire a car and explore the island. There are so many bits that you can't explore otherwise. For the most fun, get a Jeep.

Visit the North of the island. Absolutely stunning and very relaxed - a complete contrast to the touristy resorts and you won't be fighting for a space on the beach.

Go to Underground as it's a fantastic club and is free.

I know it sounds odd, but take the boat taxi to Ibiza Town at night. The views as you approach the harbour are stunning.

Have a meal in La Torretta in Da Alt Vila.

Visit Es Vedra - it'll take your breath away. I'd also recommend hiring a boat to get as near it as possible, although we weren't able to do this the day I went.

My top ten tips...

10. visit Benirras beach on sunday evenigs and through the day too.
9. sit at top of dalt villa and get hammered.
8. chill out on the es vedra view point, stunning.
7. formentera
6. space, sundays.
5. hire a car and drive all down the south coast, beach hopping!
4. find Atlantis, challenging and funny.
3. have a meal and sangria in one of the sunset bars like savannah.
2. bora bora, anytime!
1. i cant pick a number one cos everything is so good in ibiza, do as much as you can! x

dalt villa
just noticed that nobody wrote it correctly. the correct spelling is DALT VILA:

VILA - the name eivissencs use to refer to ibiza town

DALT - "above" in català

the walled area is "above" vila so..........
