What have been your top 10 tracks of this year, from any genre?

Only condition is that it has to be released (or re-released) in 2011.
 
Not in any order:

James Blake - The Wilhelm Scream
Radiohead - Lotus Flower
Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers
Burial - Street Halo

Will add more as they come to mind...

There was also stuff by Warpaint and Little Dragon, but to be honest it's not been my favourite year for music, or maybe I haven't found what I'm looking for. I'm giving up the music reviewing next year, so I'll actually get a chance to listen to more stuff I like.

One of Two Bears is Joe Goddard from Hot Chip so that would be a no! (Also behind that 'Gabrielle' track.)

Actually, another possible for my 10 would be DELS ft Roots Manuva & Joe Goddard - 'Capsize'. Bassline reminds me of RM's 'Witness (1 Hope)'.

I know. But Joe's solo project and 2 Bears are very different beasts. Bear Hug is Blue Peter territory. It was even featured on a childrens' programme.
 
I listened to the Bear Hug EP and I remember the other tracks being quite different. Sure it's a bit novelty, but it's a fun tune. I bet they bleeped out "t!ts" for the kids show. :lol: They have an album out next year anyway.
 
My best friends ex boyfriend has a subwoofer on the bed, and they'd put it on while they had sex.

Good vibrations, and all that... :lol:

I like that too =) My other faves are Kink - Existence (if thats from this year) and Tensnakes remix of I need a dollar

Where are you now I hadn't heard in a club til this year and it blew my mind !

I agree with the sex thing good tunes in the background is a no go I want to look sexy not be pulling screwfaces every time a fat bass kicks in. Thats what songs like freak you by Jodeci are for :lol:
