Tonight: Insane @ Pacha Closing

We literally arrived just after he finished. Never mind, had a blinder of a night... Possibly even the best night?

I am just back from Closings, so still a little fragile!

With regards to Insane, I rocked up in Pacha about 02:30 so caught the end of Fritz too. I've been a massive fan of this night all season (been about 6 times), so my love for it is known.

After meeting some people on the Terrace I made it back into the Main Room about 3AM when the Chicago Kings had just started their set. From that moment on I stayed until the end of their set. Absolutely loved it, all three were banging out some proper House music, and the crowd was totally up for it, and even dropping in some "Wonderwall" at some point (actually worked).

With Pacha I have often said that the nights there only work when they have a lead resident holding it together. e.g. Pure Pacha days of 2008-2010 example of how it never worked. However, while Fritz and Digweed have been the residents of sorts, all of the nights that I have been to have all had different line-ups and all worked.

Digweed has been brilliant, the Voorn b2b fanciiulli in June was epic (and I thought them in Pacha was better than their b2b at Ushuaia closing), but the stand outs for me were the Sneak b2b carter b2b farina sets. Their sound fits Pacha perfectly, the timing of their sets is perfect (as much as Sneak may moan that they are too early their sound is more accessible to those who leave clubs at 5AM after a few Vodkas only).

I think they need to play even more dates next year. A 3am-5am set by them followed by a deeper Digweed is perfect.

Overall brilliant season IMO for Insane!
