Tone Arm Settings

Hiya,

I've got a 1210 with technics headshell, STANTON 500ALMK2
CARTRIDGE & STYLUS and a numark pro tt1 with ORTOFON CONCORDE DJ S CARTRIDGE & STYLUS.

How do i find out what the optimum tonearm settings should be? currently i just tweak till the needle stays on the record

It says the tracking force is 2-5grams

But if you are worries about your vinyl, you might want to upgeade your carts at somepoint as Stantons 500's are notoriously bad at wearing vinyl1

what would you recommend. Myother deck uses an ortofon but i've gone through two of them in the same time as i've had the stanton.

Was gonna move to both stantons because of that but in hindsight i think i'd rather spend the money on the needles than lose my vinyl.

Don't do any scratching... just beat mixing

I use Ortofon Concorde Elektros

But all the Ortofon Concorde range tends to be good ive had the Pro and the DJs before and you can beat them!

I too use the Ortofon, they hold the groove nicely and good sound quality too.
