Cool song, but the video is crap. What is the video about?

Ever noticed that some of the greatest songs have horrible videos?

How about "She Will be Loved" by Maroon 5, or as I like to call it; The "Dude, you made out with my mom!" video? The song is beautiful, the video is crap. "Blood Pigs" by Otep is a song that makes me wanna get up and gut someone alive, but the video is disappointing.

Mike Jackson, Nine Inch Nails, Puff Daddy, Pink Floyd (If you want to get old), Tool, Madonna and Cradle of Filth all realize just how important the music video is to the artform and make videos that are up to par wit their music

What is a song that you think is great but the video absolutly blew?

well all house and trance videos are pants, especially those oldies by ATB, Sash and Faithless back in the mid/end of 90´s!

I thought the video for one of my all-time, favorite songs, "Nothing But You" by PvD, was way lame. Just couldn't get into it. I think I will just go with what swirls around in my head when I hear a song! :P

There is no need for music videos. It's kinda like a good book that they make into a movie- you have this picture painted in your head of all the characters and scenery, then you see a movie and it ruins it for you.

I could not have said it better, broiler. The whole experience of a song is enhanced when it seeps into your imagination and inspires your brain to conjure it's own music video. Music videos attempt to bridle your interpretation for the sake of entertainment. Everyone's mental picture is different.

Watch "Sober" by Tool, then tell me the above.

You can get it off of any file-sharing program

PachaGirl, My personal idea of a video for Static-X's "So" is a lot better than what is given to me, and that is what I see when I'm listenining to the TranceMetal masters at work, not the sucky video they made. Videos aren't trying to bridle your imagination, You're free to imagine what you will, they just give you some entertainment, and sometimes, like with "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" by My Chemical Romance, Add to the song.
