hi guys

ok well out there last year and we spent a lot of time in the room drinking and having a good time with people dancing with people in our rooms before going out

so this year i have all my music on my laptop and wanna someone mix out there with good loud small speakers for the room

im a dj but dont wanna take a mixer and decks

is there anything out there that i can use with software which is tiny and not dear to buy so i can ahve a mix up with people while out there????

also anyone recommend cheap small but loud speakers????

thanks

p.s has anyone done anything like this or know of anyone

u never know could get a pool view and get the poolside buzzing ;-)

Different people, different needs - you will know me if we are in the same hotel at the same time because I will be the guy chucking your speakers in the pool. Stick some ear thingies on and enjoy your own music not drive others up the wall.

im sure u wont be last year people were playing my cds and i just wished i was mixing live lol

anyone else with a sensible answer?

Stone me did I stumble upon the Saga web site my mistake!??

Cheeeeil out.

Parris, have a look about or do some searches on the site, lots of threads on similar subjects.

Several years ago, a group of young lads had a similar vision through a disc player and speakers - after two requests to turn it off, that ended up in the pool.

If your going to use anything i would recommend the jvc boombox, if youve not heard one of these things on then you dunno what your missing, plug a 3.5mm jack from laptop to boombox and off you go, use pioneers own mixing software based on the cdj1000 which you can download from the website.

last year we had a jvc boombox at the bahia, we also had sea view rooms next to each other so we plugged it into mains and cranked it up facing the pool, most people were loving it to say the least.although we just plugged an ipod into it and stuck on various sets etc...

you should be able to find one of those jvc boombox on ebay no problem, theyre extreme durable aswell.although we wrapped ours in bubble wrap at the airport and had to sent it as extra luggage.yet on the way home we took it on as hand luggage:lol:

Any questions on finding one to buy give me a shout......prices range alot,we got one for £30 and another for £100....well worth it though!!

Heres a new one on ebay, for £130 you'll be surprised at what these things can do!

Lol this thread is funny indeed...
paris i think you can't do what you are thinking without being kicked out of the hotel...
your only chance to mix somewhere inside the hotel is if it has decks itself...
so take a look at es vive;)

i dunno about saga, saddo more like!

coming to ibiza to have a party in your hotel room is sadder than a bunch of saddos from sad town on st. sad's day!

oh, and a tad inconsiderate to other guests as well.

i thought playing music in your room or pool area was oldhat.seems like its come back again.far too many people playing cds at same time.you can never just hear one song.

like said most will end up in the pool.plus you can get done by the prs still.and the fact is it may get nicked or wet.stick to ipod headphones.leave others in peace.apaet from that enjoy yourselfs by all means.you will find most places now have there own systems.and the cd players ect are banned

we had a dj one day a week, other than that there was no other music at all, so thats why put our cd player on. we locked it in our rooms and because we had rooms beside each other, we just jumped over to change the sets. our music was more than welcome at our hotel.

The hotel we've stayed in the past 3 years, Garbi, play their own music around the pool in the afternoon and even louder at the bar & pool area in the early evening. I've yet to see anyone chuck their speakers in the water.... and I'm sure Parris and his friends' taste in music could not possibly be worse than Garbi's music programmers!

if some dumb idiots make too much noise every night in the hotelroom
next to yours you can do what this bloke did:

"...
Well, the XXX is notorious for having paper thin walls,
and these assholes would come in hooping and hollaring all night long.
We had to be up and at meetings by 7:30 am each day so it was definitely not appreciated.
So every morning before we left, we turned our television on as loud as it would go,
and just leave it on all day.
You could hear that son of bitch all the way to the parking lot it was so loud!
Then we would turn the clock radio the alarm mode as loud as it would go
and leave it on all day.
And we slammed our door as hard as we could about 20 times before we left.
And we screamed and hollared too ..."

I took Mixer (Hercules MK2), Laptop and a small set of speakers with a bass unit that I bught in Asda for £13.00. All fitted my hand luggage. This one has a soundcard as well so you can pre listen and cue the tunes. You'll need this if your laptop just has a normal sound card. You could also buy the MK2's wee brother without the soundcard and get a different soundcard. Or there is even a wireless version and they sell speaker sets. http://www.hercules.com/uk/DJ-Music/

If you buy the Hercules mixer you will get an older version of Virtual DJ with it. You'll manage fine with that and also have a setup for BBQ's etc. I've taken mine on planes a couple times as hand luggage, holidays, ibiza, tidy weekender etc

Just holler or PM if you want more details
