So, a half decent House track gets to the top spot in the UK, but it must be ages since this happened?

Very common in the late nineties/early 2000, but what makes this one so appealing to the Top 40 audience?

(btw, looking at the rest of the top 40, I have no idea who 75% of the artists are8O. Its my daughters who have highlighted the Dumont track. I hardly ever listen to daytime radio)

Weren't Disclosure number 1 a few weeks back? Tbh, I don't hear much youth radio these days, Rob Da Bank being the only show I listen to regularly on r1 and I even find him a bit annoying these days. :?

I listen to Ibiza gloabal radio at home quite a lot and this Duke track has been on it a few times.....then heard it on the radio the other day in the car and the kids even knew they'd heard it on Ibiza radio  I vowed never to listen to it again! But it is kinda nice, just makes me think of sun, sea and gets me in the mood to groove :D

Exactly, its a nice tune. Some good remixes around also

I'm a Sonica and IGR man myself and have probably heard it loads but didnt click that it was large with the "kids"

Yeah Disclosure recently got upto number 2 in the charts too with their track "White Noise"

Definitely a good thing anyway, nice to see decent house tracks doing well these days

Anything can happen these days, last month PJ & Duncan got to number 1 with 'Let's get ready to rumble' :o

credible acts used to release post-Xmas and chart high due to all the crap being released trying to get Xmas No. 1

Rui da Silva - Touch Me coming to mind

It's had a bunch of airplay on the TV music channels so the video probably helps, it's a bit of a quiet period in terms of 'big' acts putting out music. Probably just a case of right time, right tune, perfect storm scenario.

I think this is going to be this years... ottow knows... which last year was EVERYWHERE!

the duke dumont track gets massive amounts of airplay during the day, we have constant radio wars at work, this is one of the few tracks I'll happily listen to (They're are some terrible ones!), then again, everyone at work see's me as the crazy rave child when my music taste isn't that extreme at all!
