I've been nominated for this ice bucket nonsense, well me and a friend who'll both be in Ibiza in two weeks. I was going to just ignore it, but then I thought of a way to make it a bit more entertaining and relevant.
No offence to ALS sufferers, but I've decided to change the charity, and make it something Ibiza related.
So, my questions are -
1. Is there any charity or fund on for the desalination projects on the island? I know the tourist season puts a lot of strain on the water supply, so it would be good to highlight that and donate a bit of money.
2. As a result, aside from a bought bag of ice, it would be hypocritical to use water. Instead, I'll be using vodka. I know a lot of the small shops in San An sell stuff like a bottle of Grey Goose with a bottle of Sprite sellotaped to it, but I'm not a big drinker and just stick to beer, so can't remember the price. Anyone any rough figure? I remember it was surprisingly cheap.
I'm asking elsewhere whether or not it's dangerous to drench yourself in ice cold vodka, but assuming it isn't, it should be a laugh and I hope to highlight the issue of water shortage on the island.
