Things that aren't as good as they used to be....

I thought it would be interesting to gather people's thought on things they don't think are as good as they used to be in Ibiza.

A starter from me:

Cafe Del Mar. I used to love Cafe Del Mar and religiously would go there every night just to chill, drink beer and listen to Jose Padilla lay a soundtrack to the sun setting. It was always a mixed crowd and people would sit on the beach at the front on towels or sunbeds and at it was just a fantastic atmosphere.

I would even go there on my own sometimes when others were getting ready and just soak up the atmosphere and the music, I would have happily have just gone to Ibiza purely for going to Cafe Del Mar. I was obsessed with the place and the music.

Things started going downhill when Mambo and Savannah started to get bigger and the music from both would drift across. Then the walkway was built and the extension was completed and to me the place was dead.

When hangin around San an strip,Cafe Del Mar is still a nice place as Cafe Mambo is too packed...enjoyed seeing Jose Padilla, Joan Ribas for Flower Power pre party, now Marco Loco...You can also say Ibiza is not as good as the oldtime :D but we still can enjoy it :p

Agree and there are some things I find better(maybe for another thread?) As with anything though, some things have changed and it doesn't necessarily mean that people still aren't enjoying them.

The Space terrace being another one, loved the open air terrace and also had some good nights on the new terrace. Two completely different things though and the old open air Space Terrace is hard to beat.

good thread but dont know where to start. Agree that sunset strip is shite now and is just anextension of the west end....too many british girly pr who only speak english......it feels like a poseur paradise now.

orange corner was better as kiwi bar

ibiza rocks better when manumission bar.

in fact most things were better before facebook and selfies

We love sunday @ Space was a popular party..Now, see what's this party become....forgiven @ Sankeys ...

Am I allowed to say Eden?

I mean... what even is it now? After a random night in the west end, some PR girl was trying to drag us in there as it was the "only place still open" - Free wristbands, got in at about 5am, and I kid you not, there must have been no more than 10 people on the dance floor (6 of them were us!) - Smashed out of my face already upon entry, I decided enough was enough and got with one of the four remaining civilians in an attempt to leave this shithole sharpish. Security soon kicked me out for sucking said civvie's nipples and I was left with feelings of both shame, but also bemusement, at what had happened to this once great superclub!

(Though tbfair, I've only been coming to the island since the noughties kicked off, and as each year has passed, Eden has got shitter, culminating in the Gatecrasher debacle in 2014)

1 the promenade outside of orange corner is much worse with all the black senegalise women legally mugging tourists with wristbands then demanding money.....much worse that 10 years ago. surprised the police dont put a stop to it.

2 cleanliness , in particular dog crap every where ( san an)

3 dalt vila, the monstrosity new building on the top is a right mess built by some billy bodget, preferred the cranes

Okay for me,
1.The fact I can't party at 10am in Space.
2. PDB used to be place where clubbers mixed with families, this is no longer sadly. PDB is a necessary evil now. I like it, but I hate it just as much.

for the dog crap, that suckX around Figueretas too (calle al sabini ) , The government is more willing to have staff giving fine for parking stuff than staff in charge to clean the town...Ibiza f***in isla del dinero  ( saw one guy in charge of the fine ,one morning at 09.00 am  this is the beginning of the time to pay parking for blue zone..)

I dont remind that there were blue parkin areas in Ibiza decades....
Ive got a fine 45€ first day ,landing in ibiza in 2012, just comin from the airport & drop my luggage at my accomodation in Figueretas (carre del pais basco)..just for 25mn in my room tryin to fix the wifi ..should have drop luggage & back into the car in order to park it around el diario de ibiza (other side of the main road)
i've paid a fine around the egg (on the left)at a place for buses Ibz 2000, but how i was supposed to know that Blue triangle mean Bus parking  , they ve towed my car, once back from Mambo, i was quiet angry to go to pick my car just 3mn by feet from the egg & paid kind of 100€ fine(dont remember the amount)

Ha Ha, far too late on a Sunday to work that out.

We either go to Golden Buddha or Kumharas. Sometimes sit on the rocks or have gone to the Sushi place which was nice but sadly went downhill last year when Mambo took it over.

Was it owned by them when it was Kama Sushi and then rebranded as Mambo Sushi? If it was, can't believe how drastically it changed if it was just the name change.
