The Words fastest Growing City

It is a funny place isn't it!

We all say it's setting itself up for disaster but to be honest half the resorts in the world are purpose built and horrible yet they all do very well. At least dubai is kinda 'exciting'
 
Unfortunately I cant see the link but I was in Dubai last week for 6 days. Was a bit apprehensive about whether I would like it but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Hotels were fantastic, weather amazing eventhough the whole place is a bit of a building site.
It is all a bit strange out there though and you do have to wonder how long it is all going to last. Too many random people off the street here in the Uk and in Ireland (and Im sure other places) digging into their lifetime savings to buy property out there.....sometimes without even seeing it. :?

Huge boom of Dubai property sales in Russia as well, though it's usually people who can more than afford it doing the buying.

I guess the big question is, will Dubai be successful in establishing itself as a major business and financial center on a scale to justify the massive investment? They are already on their way to some degree, but it will take a lot more. That said, it is in the middle of a growing region and decently placed geographically.

I met a girl whos parents bought one of the countries on 'the world' island thingy. She thought they were mad, but said it'd probably be really fun

presume she mustv been loaded 8O
