Seven long years after exposing us to 'The Fat Of The Land', The Prodigy are back with a new album. Scheduled for release by Maverick/XL on Tuesday 4th September, 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned' features 12 Liam Howlett penned tracks, including the first single 'Girls', which finds The Prodigy returning to their old skool roots with the focus firmly on the beats.
'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned' is a trashy, adrenalised, sleaze-funk masterpiece. For this album, Liam recorded vocals and treated them just like samples by using them to create an overall sound. Guest input on the album comes from the likes of Juliette Lewis ('Hot Ride'), Princess Superstar ('Memphis Bells'), Ping Pong Bitches ('Girls'), Twista ('Get Up Get Off'), Shahin Badar (of 'Smack My Bitch Up' fame - 'Get Up Get Off'), and Kool Keith ('Wake Up Call'), Liam and Noel Gallagher ('Shoot Down') and Paul Jackson ('Action Radar').
All tracks were written, programmed and assaulted by Liam Howlett. As with 'Music For A Jilted Generation', Keith Flint and Maxim Reality were not involved in this album, although the The Prodigy?s line-up remains the same and the band will return for live dates later in the year.
'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned' will be available on CD and vinyl.
