Hey guys, so once again here we are at review time for my trip, and as per usual there's a lot to tell you about my time in Ibiza. So we'll start with pre trip talk and what not.

Now every year I go out to Ibiza I arrange to maybe meet one or two people or just manage to miss them for whatever reason, this year due to an FB group being created for people travelling solo this seemed to get everybody together. Getting a few peoples numbers and making little arrangements did the trick.

Monday 29th & Tuesday 30th June

So I was due to fly out about 6am on the Tuesday from Manchester airport, so with the weather being absolutely gorgeous on the Monday I thought why not have a few pre drinks out in the sun in bury, a little tipsy by time I go back home to pick my case up I go and meet another friend in Manchester and a few too many cocktails around the northern quarter I'm pretty much half cut and manage to get on the wrong tram to the airport and end up somewhere I haven't a clue!

By 2am I manage to flag a taxi down to get me to the airport, straight away that's an extra £40 paid out, what an idiot I've been already, but I'm on my way so that's the main thing. I arrive at the airport have a few bottles of water and get through security, now I think I'm absolutely fine nothing can possibly go wrong so I have a few beers at the bar, this next bit is a bit hazy, so apparently I went to the toilet near the gates and leave my case outside, don't ask me why I was far too pissed.

Obviously security being what it is in airports they take my case away, I'm non the wiser at this point and walk to my gate as its time to board, maybe 10 minutes later I suddenly realise I have no case, run back to the toilets then back through security, thank god they have it, with a stern telling off and that im probably in no fit state to board a plane he lets me go through.

But SHIT the plane has gone, major f*** up that I am, so I speak to a Ryanair rep and she kindly takes me back through to departures n says speak to her bye! So I'm back to square one, find out there's no flights out with Ryanair until the next day or from a different airport and £100 cost to transfer my flight.

I decide its best I go back home, regroup and get some sleep, the thing is I get back to Manchester and seem to think a few more drinks wouldn;t hurt seen as I've got a full day. I get back home at 2am weds morning, pissed as a fart and get my head down.

What an absolute idiot to get myself In such a state and miss my flight!

Wednesday 1st July

I wake up with a stinking hangover, and absolutely gutted i'm not waking up in Ibiza! First things first check for the next flight out, turns out there isn't much about but then all of a sudden East Mids £54 with jet2, WINNER! Booked it straight away and emailed the hotel that I would be arriving late, quick shower and I'm out the door on my way to Manchester again. No drink for me today just water water water.

The one thing I didn't bank on was not knowing there isn't a direct station for east mids airport itself, so after 2 n half hours on two trains and a shuttle bus for another 40 mins I arrive, now as I only take hand luggage I thought no problem but with checking in at the desk itself they tell me I'm only allowed 5kg hand luggage, oh for f***s sake here we go again!

I tell the girl behind the desk my problems from the day before and how much I've travelled just for this flight, she gives me free hold luggage and an emergency exit seat. I could kiss the poor lass if I wasn't such a sweaty mess that must of looked a right state.

I get through security and head straight to the bar, I no I said no drink but one san Miguel wouldn't hurt me at this point, which then leads to having the shakes so bad I cant bring myself to drink it, never the less im happy I finally made it, time to board the plane. Not so much a flight where everyone is buzzing which was just fine for me, a few soft drinks and a sandwich and im back to my normal self.

Not much else to say for this day, I get checked in and jump straight in the shower, contemplate going out to meet a few guys but a few shandys downstairs in the hotel bar and its an early night for me, ready for the day ahead.

Now this is a first for me in a few ways, missing my flight, never done that before and will never get into that state again and when u sometimes see people on the plane in that way u think how the hell have u managed to get here! Secondly early night on my first night, but with literally a few hours sleep in the past 48 hours it just made sense and also gives you a better outlook for the time you have out there and to make proper plans!

Thursday 2nd July

Wake up fresh as a daisy! A day round the pool, catch some rays and make the most of the all inclusive, not much to report for the day, except the all inclusive was abit shit on the old drinks front!

Later that night I arrange to head down to mambo with Mark and meet a few others later on, we get the water taxi over and have a walk down, after hanging around a while we meet up with bonny, talmadge and rich! Head to Mambo Sushi and have a few drinks.

Talk turns to tonights plans, Cream Ibiza pops up, I must admit I've been a few times before and liked it but wasn't so overly bothered about attending this year, think it was duke Dumont & Boyz Noise on the terrace and Above & Beyond in the main room, a little persuasion and we're on our way, got there quite early around 1am and headed straight to the terrace.

Wasn't sure who was on tbh but it was pretty poor, was not feeling it in the slightest.

Moved into the main room where WHOOSH it was going off, the supplies soon kicked in and hit me like a sledgehammer, majority of the night we stayed in the main room where tbh I was quite enjoying the trance like music and took me back to the days where I loved it due to clubbers guide to trance!

We went back to the terrace once and duke Dumont was on, I really don't think he does any justice in there, I get that it'd get the punters in as its a known name and he has a few tracks for the masses to get their phones out to. Quite a shame as I love the terrace but even so, all in all not a bad night at all, quick taxi back to san an and to bed.

It was payday tomorrow for myself, and it was gonna be a big one!

f***... I feel your pain I almost missed my flight from Barcelona to Ibiza due to a tight layover (1 hour), and they let me through to the wrong gates as well. But I just barely made it after getting running around in circles. They wouldn't give me a boarding pass at the gate itself and told me to go to the office of the airline. Once I found that, they told me to go to go back to the gate and I got a ticket finally...

Landing on the island and seeing the mountains for the first time felt like that scene from Jurassic Park when they all see the brontosaurus for the first time. I swear I heard John Williams' theme playing as well

Last summer our journey was terrible. After one week we arrived ibiza airport to fly milano malpensa at 7 am morning with EASY JET. Me, fiance and one couple friends 4 of us cant sleep a hour because we all clubing last night until early morning. Anyway we passed the x ray security check and moved the gate for flight than saw there wad a 2 hour delayed. I said yes its time to get same sleep because I feel exteremly tired and so sleepless after hard night. After one hours my friend wake me up and said to me that flight delayed another 2 hours which is not cool. Because we have another flight @16.00 Milano malpensa to cyprus with same company EASYJET. Then we start to discuss what we should we do. We try to find easyjet office and talked about what will happen but its Sunday and its closed. Then decide to check skyscanner for find another early flight to malpensa but Unfortunately nothing. Then I e mail to EASY JET and wrote them our situation we are miss our 2 flight which was same company. Nothing happen. Then we call a easyjet and talked with representative. I explained our situation we will definetly miss our second flighted to home and this is not our fault. She said okey we will give you a free ticket for malpensa to cyprus 3 days later Wednesday. I said okey thanks then she said only 1 passenger left in a whole aeroplane!!! I told her we need 4 she said if you are avillable 10 days later you will fly together. But it was impossible how can we surrvive in Italy 10 days aftet 1 week in ibiza. So conversions with easyjet cant help us. After 10 hours delayed we arrived malpensa airport @8 pm but our second flight was already gone. We were all f***ed up tired and sleepless. We discuss again to find first flight and go to home. Next flight was @6.45 am. So me and fience paid 632 euro and other couple payed 730 euro to go home. Milano airport was exteremly cold there was rain outside. We used our towel to warm sleep @airport then go the gate for flight. We arrried home monday 16.00 pm which means we spent 36 hours @airport.

EASY JET never again.

Friday 3rd July - PAYDAY

So I wake up after a decent night at Cream, not feeling to bad as it goes which is always good, quick shower n change and I jump on the water taxi to San An, cash machine and off to Ibiza rocks bar for my usual stint of Skinny Breakfast with a corona, as per always delish!

Took myself for a walk down the front and ended up in kiosk bar, not bad priced drinks and people seemed to be having a good time, also a dj on there who was killing it! Headed back to the hotel had a disco nap and a shower and headed back to Ibiza rocks bar to meet Talmadge, a few more corona's and decide to head down to Mambo's as he's never seen the sunset before.

We sit on the rocks with a few beers and get talking to a couple that ask us how we know each other and explain about the spotlight forums etc and that most probably wouldn't have met one an other in any other circumstance, they were pretty blown away and found it cool.

So when the sun goes down and everyone claps, talmadge doesn't get the whole "why do u clap" bit, we try to explain but no bother he enjoyed it non the less, a few more beers and I retire, im pretty wiped out and to think it was gonna be a big day of drinking and going to clubs it was a pretty tame affair to say the least.

Best is yet to come!

Looking forward to the rest mate , sound like a very interesting holiday you had

Saturday 4th July

After abit of an early night and a good sleep behind me, the usual shower, dip in the pool and a little breakfast and im feeling great, I take a walk down the bay towards san an and reach a bar called Urban Lounge, nice little place with what looked like a half decent menu and not badly priced at all,

I ordered a corona and king prawns which were a little messy to deal with but tasted amazing

And a kiwi daiquiri to finish, hope the pics work!

After that I head back to my hotel just down the road grab some stuff and get a taxi down to Bora Bora to meet everyone, now this is a first for me even though I've been to the island god knows how many times. The taxi ride was quite long but the music was pumping which was good, I head down and meet up with the guys already a little smashed by this point, but f*** it lets go!

Absolutely loved the dj who was on he was killing it so bad! After a few hours and collecting some supplies we head back to bonnys hotel, quick shower and change and head to Algarb to meet rich n crew, few more beers, we're on route to space for kehakuma and elrow, was super excited for this as I've heard good things plus we had wristbands for 20 euros before 1am, abit early I admit but non the less, its 20 euros!

So after going through we head to Elrow ( not sure on the room sorry ) we stayed here maybe an hour or so, the guys and I thought it was a little weird, not sure why, whether it was just the vibe of the place or something else but we wasn't feeling it, we go through to Kehakuma and this is more like it, the music the vibe everything just slotted into place.

Must admit I didn't get any pics or vids from the night as I was a little worse for wear to say the least, I left around 4am, taxi and bed, with good memories from the night it was all good!

Time to go work now, shall try finish this whenever I can!

Sunday 5th July

I must admit my memory is a little hazy from this day, so bare with me.

Hit up a few people in san an and jump in a taxi to Bora Bora again, we stop off at Steak & Shake right near bora bora, this place is off the hook, so frickin tasty its unreal! For not a bad price aswell, it was a win win situation, and a little added energy for the day ahead.

Down to bora bora and its jumping as always, everyones having a good time, a little supplies seem to go an incredibly long way today with a little md which is strong as hell and knocks me sideways downways upways and any other way possible!

Hits me like a juggernaut, few hours later I must look an absolute picture to say the least, bora bora for me is everything I love in Ibiza, daytime party, the new outdoor stage/dj setup I think is a great addition, everybody having a great time in the sun, what's not to love right?

Now from then and realising I'm lost somewhere in PDB, its pitch black, id lost my vest I was carrying around, sunglasses, after about 20 minutes of stumbling around I manage to flag a taxi down to take me back to my hotel, thankfully there's a couple of euro notes I find in my shorts so I can actually pay!

A very messy day indeed, but from what I remember it was an amazing day.

Monday - 6th July

Wake up as rough as a badgers, takes me a good hour to even muster some energy to roll over to look at my wallet, Empty!
Okay check my pockets, 15Euro left, not ideal, check my bank account, Empty!

Holy shit, so after getting off my face, looks as if I've spent over 300 euro in one day, not a good time, decide to head downstairs, have a few Fanta limon's and to get my head back in the game, one of the lads arranges to meet me at Ibiza rocks bar at 2-3, gives me enough time to get sorted.

Head down and have a few San Migs, taking it easy today, hardly any money plus still need to get to the airport tomorrow! We move onto Kiosk bar and the same Dj is on from the other day, playing decent tunes again, I start to get the taste, on to Itaca again some decent music and a group of lads clearly from England being casual lager louts but all in all having a laugh.

People asking me left right and centre to head down to bora again. f*** it, we head down in a taxi again, and rock up around 6, low and behold everyone is there and its good to see them all which would be for the last time, now I hadn't eaten all day and just been on the beer, somehow though the MD from the day/night before, seemed to be kicking in again and I was gone!

Music was on point as usual, started to wind down about 11-12 and I had to call it a night, people had headed off their own way tonight and I needed to do the same, I jump in a cab and back to the hotel, on my last legs before I collapse and fall asleep, I manage to throw everything into my case and finally check in for my flight home.

Tuesday 7th July

Up nice and early today, shower and properly pack my case and make sure I've got everything I need, manage to stomach a few rashers of bacon and some water from downstairs at breakfast and quickly get a cab to the airport.

On route it always gives me time to reflect on the holiday and any regrets I may have had, this year it seemed more to be the fact I didn't look after my body well enough at all, I seriously didn't drink enough water or eat enough in the 6 days I was there, i'd also booked an all inclusive to then save me money while I was out there, which didn't go to plan as to be fair it was pretty shit and better options were available elsewhere.

Also the fact I only made it to 2 of the major clubs was a real ballache for me, I do love a good daytime party but I do feel like I missed out on a lot this year but that's only myself to blame to be fair.

On the plus side, I got to meet so many people from all walks of life that I would never have got to of met if it wasn't for spotlight so im thankful for that, people from Australia, USA, Japan, Germany & Hull ( haha sorry mark if you read this ) I truly have made friends for life this year, and already talking about next year in Ibiza and also other meets for nights out round the UK.

I really wanted to come back for a few nights round my birthday in September to see courteeners at Ibiza rocks but the flights seem a little pricey around that time which is putting me off, which probably means it will be next year that I will be out and definatly for my 30th!

Sorry if I rant on a little too much on my reviews, I do it only to give people a little heads up or something to look forward to.

Hope you all enjoyed the read anyway!

P.s. It took me 3 days after arriving back home to even come down , hella strong stuff! Peace!

Good read I can definitely relate. I should post my review like this for my 10 days... I still have specks of sand from San Antonio Bay on my sandals.

I had the most problems with this trip, and I guess becuase it being the 'partying capital of the world' you will lose control.

Luckily your money situation was zero'd out on your last day and not in the middle of the trip.

Brilliant review Stu, make me more gutted that i didn't go. roll on the closing parties.
What dates you out there mate? Been looking here and there for flights n what not but bit unsure whether to make another trip this year or to just leave it till next?
