The obscurity and magic of Ibiza

We have lived on this magical island since September 2012, I now realise I will never know about all the hidden gems the island has to offer.

I run regularly and see many signs for Atzaro, despite coming here since 2001 I had no idea what it was until finally googling the place yesterday! Likewise I went for a sports massage at a place called Sluiz this week, never even knew it existed. On a typical Sunday long run I pass dozens of bars and eateries virtually in the middle of nowhere. If you have never hired a car and explored the magic of the countryside and pine forests, you have not experienced Ibiza. If I had to summarise Ibiza having been here for 10 months, I would say "Ibiza is".... whatever you make it x 1,000.

lol, it's harmless banter.

It's a genuine observation, so many obscure little places that one wonders how on earth they stay in business out in the middle of nowhere.

Cala Llenya market on Sundays, article on main page....fantastic *beer 1.60* Close to you, lovely music and dancing and great people!

Crowds of people not really my thing, unless within the confines of a crowded nightclub :) Didn't realise it was lovely music (could you qualify this?), dancing (naked?) and the people must be great 'cos they are in Ibiza and at a market?

It's lovely music because it's live, the people are great if you want to see some big characters.
More of a daytime party than anything else,I don't need all that stuff on the stalls, got most of it at home already!
Try it, sure you will love it,naked or not.

Honestly didn't realise there was any live music at Cala Llenya market, I try and avoid any 'market' venue as wifey gets giddy and spends a fortune on tut!

Take care Don :)

ibiza is a smart place, the countryside so pretty, reminds me of wales, the night life and the people, just like benidorm without the elvis tribute, the upmarket clubs, like a bouncing night out in liverpool,

what a great place, i might make a permanent move here :)

the welsh countryside is so pretty, Liverpool night life is fantastic, its not such an odd comparison.

:)

with more live music and less pre recorded disco stuff, ibiza could be perfect.

now before you all start, i know you get the odd superstar here, but i'm talking walk in off the streets free live music, not sell a kidney to see mc cartney and sting at ibiza rocks.

cheers

Plenty of live music, I've been to Kumharas and seen bands plenty of times, if you want to pay - Privilege has had some good live music in recent years.

LOL at prerecorded disco stuff! Anyone know what sort of music is played at Circoloco? Yeah, prerecorded disco stuff haha

I have another 6 years on you and can honestly say that I have still not discovered a small percentage of "The Island" What I will add is there is at least one thing a day that is "extraordinary" Every day, It make`s ya smile :-)
Tim

To add, Dunno about Liverpool, But being from not far from Wales, Yea there is some of the countryside that does remind me, Take the road to Benimussa up past the fire station, About 6k`s along could be wales (If it was raining)

look guys, i dont want to argue, i am told that paco fernandez at kumharas is very good, so thats one, paying to get in a club to see dj's is not my thing, paying twenty quid?? for a beer water is not my thing either , i am talking about walking in a to bar and seeing quality 5 and 6 piece cover bands and paying the price for a drink that reflects whats on offer on stage, there are a lot of solos and karaoke style music here, and i would like to see more bands to even it out a bit. I dont want to upset the dj's and dance types, its just not for me.

does circoloco have a live band, or is it cubase, propellerhead, fruity loops and a bloke spinning plates with a fire eating snake wrapped around his leg??

:D

just jump on the number 9 bus to san jose. raco verd has live music thu, fri, sat night, la movida fri night, and can jordi fri night and sat afternoon.

thanks stephen, can i use my bus pass????;)

thanks guys,

it would be very boring if we where all exited by the same thing.

cheers
