The Legendary EsVive Hotel

Having heard all the good reports and viewed how nice the place looks on their website, i am seriously conisdering staying at the EsVive when i pop over for a few days in June.

I know that quite a few on this board have stayed there so was hoping for a little advice - Its location; how far away are playa d'en bossa and ibiza town? if i was to stay there is car a necessity to get to either of those 2 places or is it walkable?

your help would be appreciated.

thanks!!

surely to goodness a place of the calibre of es vive would give some details of its location on its website. i reckon with the parking situation in that area that it would be better not to have a car to get to playa den bossa or ibiza. in fact you'd probably find yourself parked in either of those areas as the nearest to the hotel!

Thanks Stephen, i know roughly where it is as i have checked the map, was just wondering if it was walkable back there after a night (or day!) out.

have you stayed there yourself?

personally i never walk anywhere. it's just far too hot in summer. no i've never stayed in es vive but i did see it once when i dropped mr. and mrs. rustywoo safely back at their accommodation. i have it on good authority from other members that the stroll to ibiza is possible on foot.

The "legendary" Es Vive? Legendary? I'm sorry mate, there are many words to describe Es Vive (like young, trendy, very British, clubber friendly, perfect for DJ stalking, no kids aso) but "legendary" is certainly not one of them. Yo can call "El Corsario" legendary, or maybe La Ventana or even Pike's, but Es Vive is light years away from that

Some aspects of Es-Vive are over-rated, but we stay there cos:

- Its an easy walk to PDB or Ibiza town
- No kids
- 24 bar with good atmosphere and dj's
- Pretty nice food
- No lager louts
- Nice pool area
- Quite nice interior decor

The rooms aren't amazing, but you're not on a honeymoonm are you?

Couldn't have summed it up better myself Andy ;)

thanks v much for your help and advice.

am either gonna stay there or at the Bahia.

Roll on June 24th!!

I've stayed at both and I would say the rooms at Bahia are nicer, much bigger and you have advantage of fridge, lounge area, etc. The disadvantage it has for me is that it is 'wrong' side of island for us so we spend all our time in taxis.

If you're going to be spending more of your time at the likes of Space, Pacha, Bora Bora etc then you'd be better of at Es Vive. Everyone there is very like-minded, you won't get any beerboys or kids.

thanks barbie - you are the queen of useful information!!

Pacha and Space are obviously a certainty!!

have the rooms at EsVive not got a fridge then? sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure am making the best choice!!

thank you!!

Es Vive is a hotel whereas Bahia is an aparthotel. So at Es Vive you've just got your room and bathroom, no living area or kitchen area.

Depends what your priorities are really ;)

On merit though i would say that El Hotel is nicer....although it doesn't have the benefit of a swimming pool.

Its similar to Es Vive in that it tries to attract the same sort of crowd (young, trendy with a bit of dosh) but the rooms are considerably nicer.....and its basically next to ibiza town - right by pacha.

sorry if that throws a spanner inthe works.

Es Vive is nice though ....don't let me put you off.

I know brochures and websites are prone to exaggerate slightly but saying there is a pool and there isn't surely borders on trade description 8O

Tom said he had seen the pool there :?
