the impact of all inc on the local trade

I'll answer you anyway, even if there's no question ;) just because you might like the answer.
Perhaps some of the bars etc near to these all inc. traps could employ a decent singer to tempt people away from their sun loungers and 'free drinks', I'm not sure....

"baby,baby,it's a wild world" out there :p

well i went a/i for the frist time this year.Must say i enjoyed not having to nip to shop for water and pop.and i had a full lunch as well.with wine to wash it down.but i still went out at night to bars.it was there if i wanted it to get back before 12.but that never happened.but i did pay extra for it.i could not get h/b booking this year.thats why really.

Come on Kevin, it was a good thread. Sometimes takes peeps a little longer to reply.

I went AI this year and still managed to spend 600 euros in 8 days, and that was only one club entry.

In contrast, on my first ever holiday abroad to Greece with the missus in 1990, we spent £250 all week, for two! We were room only.

hi guys sorry about that, the delete post button disappeared and i lost my text, and had to go to work

singers in the bars don simon:D, , not sure on that, a few guys employ singers to work between 10 and 12 in the evening, but complain that the free drinks on offer till 11pm in the nearby hotels makes it a bit futile,

from what i understand all inc is about 15 to 20 euros a day per person on top of the normal room rate,is that so?

maybe an all inc bar is the answer

cheers

bloody hell deepsea diver, 600 quid, the pies in them clubs must be fantastic!

The hotel I last stayed at had recently introduced a drinks only all inc at €15 per day,to be honest it wouldn't take a lot of effort to make that worth doing, just don't want to hang around the hotel that much.
For next year they are changing to a complete all inc set up....doubt I will be going back!

well, it was for two of us. A late afternoon trip to Bora Bora is around the 50 euros mark.

(how do you know about my pie addiction?)

ha ha

seems i am not alone, i love pies too, my first post on here was about pukka pies, i got slammed by the on line ibiza cultural society for that one.

not sure how they can say club x y or z, is the best club in the world when you cant get a meat pie after the bingo, and they dont do the meat raffle!

:D

meat raffle, buy a raffle ticket for a quid, win a couple of pound of steak, chops and sausages etc.

its going to be big in the ibiza clubs next year

Speaking to the people who run a bar in Cala Lllonga the other day they say that A/I has killed the resort. It is a lovely part of the island to, quite busy last few days in August bars open until 1am or more but by 3rd Sep the bars were all empty and shut at 12am :(
I got speaking to a Russian couple who were staying A/I at a huge hotel in the area, they were fed up of being in the same place so I suggested getting a car and seeing Ibiza and her hubby looked like he could of smacked me  She demanded he go get on the next morning so she could see the island, I have been A/I all over the med and in Ibiza and still spent 1400e between two in a week last year. Always eat out once I find out the food is gash, and hate staying in the hotel too much. The problem is always having one more vodka limon before it is time to move on and leaving the place steaming :roll:

Eating and drinking in the same place (hotel) is an alien concept to me. If I want to see the same lounge, TV screen and have pre-paid beer I'd, er, stay at home.

Hotels/Hostals are for sleeping in. Perfect day is getting up early, breakfast, then off for the day by bus to a village, beach, bar, swim, walk, bar, bus, swim, beach, bar......and arrive "home" at bedtime happy.

I know in a/i you aren't surrounded by the Berlin wall and you can escape, but having a/i to me is a bit like having $ky TV, if you have it you feel you must be sat watching it all the time or you're wasting your money.

i think its sad, just on the basis of leaving the hotel having a quick beer at the closest bar whilst waiting for your missus or your mates, people are now leaving the all inc hotels and bring a beer or w.h.y in a paper cup 8O.

i'm sure the bars in the busy sections (and of course its survival of the fittest) will do ok, but if hotels in the quieter areas go bang, these all inc places will create a bit of an oasis which isnt too good is it

i hope the meat raffle takes off next year, i want to see a chain of stores all over the island,

By eck its burgers!! by david and cathy guetta
