The Fish Shack

Has anyone ever been here? I've seen it mentioned a few times, mainly by Richie Hawtin. Apparently it's literally just a shack that is set up with a few tables and chairs and they obviously specialise in fresh seafood. Really want to head there this year, but was wondering where it is and what is the best way to get there?
Cheers

ive said many times we will go and never made it. I'm calling next week of the 8th I will go there!!!

Fish Shack Talamanca

Does anyone know how late in the season this stays open? We're going to be there from the 13th to the 27th of September and have been dying to try it for ages. Hoping it will still be open when we are there.

Cracking place, no frills and decent food based on what they have in each day.

Is it easy enough to get to without having a car? We'll be staying in Playa Den Bossa and just thinking about getting there and back.

You may struggle as it is right past Talamanca beach. Taxi would probably take you there and I am sure there was a couple of taxis sitting waiting on the road just along last year.

One other thing; I don't speak any Spanish at all. Has this proved to be a problem for anyone who has been here? Just got a feeling I'm going to struggle here with zero Spanish.

I've heard recently that it's really difficult to get a table here at certain times. Does anyone know what the best time to go would be? Don't want to pay for a taxi to get there and then be turned away. Alternatively, is there a mobile number you can ring to book a table or something? I know there won't be a landline number.

you can't book a table unless you go there. it is absolutely normal that you often have to wait a while until you get a table. if you go daytime just bring your swimwear and take a dip into the med until a table gets free. worst time is probably 3pm, if you go early (say before 2pm) you'll be fine.

we are going to rent a boat for the day from star boats (as recommended by Ibiza Spotlight). I know their route covers mainly the west coast around san an, but would it be possible to take this boat up north and round to talamanca and stop at the fish shack? Or would this take too long considering you'll have the boat for about 9/10 hours?

no you can't. you're not allowed to take them further than cala conta (south) and cala salada (north) i think. not 100% sure on the zone, but you definitely cannot take it over to the other side of the island.

Thanks Stivi. In that case, how do you get there from PDB? Is it just a case of getting a bus up towards Talamanca and walking? Is it easy enough to find?

Just take a taxi to the Sa Punta restaurant.

Then walk down the road, go left after Sa Punta. Walk straight ahead and you will find it behind the rocks...
