Shown last night on one of the sky channels. Did / has anyone seen this?
Perhaps this has been shown a while ago as it centred around a cult whose leader claimed the end of the world would be 31st October 2007. Watched last night and saw a lot of scary parallels with main stream religion.
Ultimately the guy leading the cult was sentenced to eight years in jail for lying naked with a girl of 14.
One's initial reaction might be to think "Good riddance".
Other religions have, for decades escaped scot free for the systematic sexual abuse of children, the difference being Michael Travesser of the Strong cult did not have the financial clout of mainstream religion to fight a court case.
The world without all this religious hogwash would be a far safer place for those susceptible to the allure of tall stories.
