The delights of Es Paradis...

I experienced Es Paradis for the first time recently, due to it being free and full of delectable senoritas and I was pleasently suprised. After avoiding and mocking it for a fair few years, the layout, decor, atmosphere were all very good. Granted, it was Dj Sammy and I spent a good five minutes trying to catch his eye to mouth at him, your sh*t mate to no avail. However, I entered at 4AM to the welcome of the actual water part of the water party which was once of the craziest experiences of my life and should be experienced by all. Basically, loadsa northern chavs "moshing" in a 15 square meter poolf to, my only recollection of tunes was two RHCP songs within about half hour 8O both radio edit. However, this was amazingly fun and everyone was in such a good mood, whenever someone went under the water, everyone stopped and made sure the fella was alright, myself in a few cases. Girls were wandering around parading their femine charms and spreading love in a variety of manners. To conclude the experience, everyone ran outside in a Braveheart style charge to get their bits out and jump in the rank water for ten minutes. The only downfall was that our "coke, pills, hash" friends were their to rob everyones possessions which they laid out on the beach, charming. Despite much fighting, about ten people lost phones, wallets, cameras etc.

Anyway, just thought I'd write that. I'm by no means saying Es Paradis is the best thing on the island, and I will probably never go back there, but for a Wednesday night where nights are hard to find...spending three hours in there is not such a bad thing. Plus, for past glory alone and to say you've done it, it's worth it.

Other things I'd rather be doing on a Wednesday? Hell, I'd go back to La Troya (still not the same as it was at Amnesia ) before venturing to Es Paradis.

I went there on a Friday last year for Pukka Up as Spotlight's own Fronty and his How Clean Is Your House? crew were making their Ibiza big club debut. By the time we left around 4 it was chav central. I was actually frightened by some of the people I saw. I went to the toilet and returned 5 minutes later to find my wife already being hit on by some short inbred looking guy with a scar on his face.

I thought the design was beautiful but the fact that it's all done in white makes it just too bright to handle. Feels like it should be an outdoor garden, not an enclosed nightclub.

So ya, visit the place once to say you've been there (and draw your own conclusions, of course). But delights? I don't think so!

Hahahahaha, brilliant. I wasn't really in a fit state to fully analyse these people but didn't see any scary characters and was straight to the dance floor and chavs in water are disguised. Plus, I'm from Bognor Regis which is the breeding ground for such people so I'm used and can handle them.

Ah, ya see... I'm a delicate boy from the quiet suburbs of my homeland's capital... I can generally get along with people from all walks of life but some of the guys I saw on the prowl there really had me watching my back!

And while I'm not much of a fashion critic, the outfits on some of the ladies had me in stitches.

I know that's mean. Apologies to any ladies here who might have been at Es Paradis on a Friday in June of last year. I'm sure it's not you I'm talking about ;)

How do you go about securing free entry? I have heard that often you get get offered free tickets if you are hanging around the beach outside all day but is there a way of almost guaranteeing free entry?

Answered your own question there...

Ive been offered free entry to Es Paradis countless times. More often than not around 2-3am when they cant fill the place

Es Paradis and Eden entry comes down most nights at about 2-3AM when they realise they can't fill it and want your drink money. For the big nights however, this rarely goes down to free. There is a fella named Chris who works in the ticket place first thing on your right as you enter at the bottom of the West End. Unmistakeable chap, black dude, beads in his hair, big smile usually wears an American flag somewhere on his person. Anyhooways, he is the man who gives out the pink bands usually on the beach between the hours of 4ish to 7ish. The main scumbag San An beach. This is not how I obtained my free tickets on this singular occassion but I am very connected and considerably more important than most. Good Luck.

still sounds gash to me- i'll take everyone's word that its a nice place and no bother seein for myself ta 8)

Me too - 1998 Clockwork Orange was one of the nights I went to. That year we got in free a couple of times once cos we were with the then Editor of M8 magazine and his photographer and he gave us a pile of mags and an M8 t-shirt to put on so we could pretend that we worked for them and we were his helpers!

I think I went about 3 or 4 times that year in addition to Space and Amnesia. Never been to a water party though however went to one organised by Freestyle (:oops:I know - they were the cheapest back then) during the day and it was a right laugh!

Went back in 2002 which was fab however in 2003 picked the wrong night and it was practically empty at 3am and full of miserable people.

Still Es Paradis holds a special place in my heart!

So what it chavs go there? At least they can have a laugh eh?

I was there once in 8 years and I must say I had a great time, it was a water party in 2000, just have not been able to get around to it since, beautiful club

For me it was my first club I ever went to in Ibiza and it was also where we went after getting engaged in 2001 and both nights were amazing...thats why for me I'm liking it because of the memories.
