Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good All Inclusive preferably in San Antonia (I have children), but anywhere is of interest?

I am staying in San An Bay in July all inclusive at the Bergantin Hotel. Got a good deal and hotel looks nice! Got family facilities and a kids pool. Out of the hustle and bustle of the town but only a short strole or ferry across the bay.

What do you mean? That people are less drinking and eating out because they are getting it at the hotel? You can't ask people not to go AI if it is the cheaper option. It happens everywhere. But there are still a lot of people who would prefer not to so it will not drive any established places out of business surely?

MORE AI hotels mean LESS tourists using local bars and restaurants. LESS AI hotels means MORE tourists using local bars and restaurants.

So if you encourage AI hotels (which are generally foreign owned and add little to the island economy), more are built and more local bars and restaurants go out of business and eventually the character of the island is lost and you are left with a bleak landscape of beaches, hotels and boarded up shops.

Hi,

I know where your coming from, but I don't think AIs are going away, I like them because I have a young family and it's ideal for them to just go and get what they want!

I also go out and about, which I would have thought most others would do as well.

When Tesco started its policy of large out of town stores I am sure that many people said that they would use Tesco but they would still use the butcher and the fishmonger in their high street. People meant well but as the big stores got bigger the high streets began to die.

Of course everybody has a choice as to where they shop but they also need to be made aware that getting cheap shopping and cheap holidays comes at a price.

We stayed in the Berganin in 06 for 2weeks and had a fantastic time... great food great staff and amazing free cocktails! 2 pools and a gym! What a place!!!

last time i stayed all inclusive in ibiza was at the atlantic in es cana in 2003
and i'm sure local bars and restaurants did well out of the £2500 i spent locally ......onlt stayed all inc to keep my 4 kids from bothering me for drinks and snacks by the pool....approx difference between half board and all inc was £700 OR £50 per day over 2 weeks i'm sure my 4 drunk that much in pop by he pool
