That's me booked (at last!)

Gonna grab some days in June, 5 nights is the shortest break I've ever had in Ibiza so the weather had better be up for it*! The hotel/hostal I wanted on Formentera simply hasn't returned my e-mails, in fact they are still showing 2010 prices on their website, so decided enough was enough and booked (through Spotlight) a mainland hotel instead.

I wish Spotlight would get more Formentera accommodation on it's playlist ;)

Anyway, what's the shortest time anyone here's had for an Ibiza break? It's fairly easy to have a Saturday AM flight out and Sunday evening return, anyone done that, or even has anyone from the UK done a flight day-return?

*Back in Sept for a much l-o-n-g-e-r hol, this is just a quick getaway!

done 3 nights 7/11/14/15/16 and a 18 over the years i;ve been going.

Did a short Ibiza "blitz" for the openings last year and closings the year before, doing the same for openings this year. I think it's more fun & more intense than doing 2 weeks. When you're there for longer you devote more time to sleeping and trying not go get ill + conserving money. Fcuk that.

Clearly,I live in a very different world to Conkermon.

Must admit that in the middle of longer holidays (say 9 days or more) there is a boring/consolidation period which you don't get on shorter breaks. It's the time (usually a day) where I try to conserve money/body* by not spending much, and boozing even less, so that particular part of the hol is "wasted" a bit, then everything's refreshed for the remainder.

Then after the consolidation period you begin counting down to the last day and coming home

So a 4 or 5-day jaunt is the equivalent of a 40-overs cricket game. Go in, get your eye in quickly and then spend the rest of the time bashing it around a lot! Innings closed, flight home, second longer innings later in the year

* I'm over 50, and holidays have to be "paced" at my age!

i know a couple who go 4/5 times a year.since the late 70s.even getting over illness they still go.both in there late 70s as well.thats what ibiza as to offer.something for everyone

howard, maybe you just need a rest day (lay in) I never seem to get bored,I take it pretty easy, although I do a fair bit of walking/hiking about.
I just settle into the speed of life around me,generally laid back, obviously I'm not hanging around Jet apts etc.
Your cricket analogy lost me,I know nothing about cricket.

Obviously it's a nonsense that Ibiza is just a young persons place, but so many believe that !!

Remind self to pack more Ibuprofen Gel next trip....

Hi me and my wife are both late 50's,and on june 11th were going to Calla Llonga for 17 days, and i must admit in the past when we've been on our own towards the end of the holiday we've been bored, but for the last 8yrs we've gone with friends(who we met there) and every day is ace and not long enough, our friends in England keep saying why do you keep going there? and ask in a piss taking way do you go clubing? they have know idea what a paradise Ibiza is regads Stu

When the clubbers and jet-setters have moved on and left the island, which will be inevitable I suppose as things move on - or as the Euro makes it more and more expensive - Ibiza will have to re-invent itself, possibly aimed at old-timers, possibly not, but as long as it's only 2.5 hrs from the UK and Germany/Holland it will always be popular.

As it stands now, if party-goers want breathing space they can always find it, peeps like me can still find value hotels nowhere near San An/PDB, and you can get around without taxis!

If I had longer hols I might be exploring somewhere else, Bulgaria, Hungary eyc. But I haven't, so knowing Ibiza/Formentera so well means no faffing around, the minute you land you're on holiday (until the minute you leave)!
