taxi queues from the airport late at night

i've always arrived in Ibiza during the day, so my rental car is ready to pick up then.

However, this August i will be arriving really late, at 2:00 in the morning. so will have to pick up my car the next day

I have heard that there is up to a 3 hour wait for a taxi from the airport at that time of night!!!

Any truth in this????

no , it says they close at 10:00... so I rented it from the next day.

so there is no option of picking up my car at 2 in the morning.

I will be arriving late on August 12 ( so technically 2:00 am monday morning)

That is the radio one weekend, so am just concerned about getting to my hotel at that time.
 
Yep, massive queues when we arrived at 2am this time around. But we picked our hire car up just fine. Who have you hired it from? Suggest you try BK - their guy is there all night.
 
It might just be my luck, but no matter what time I arrive the taxi queues seem to be horrendous. There are car hire companies that will meet you later, I saw some earlier this month and was gone midnight. If you've booked already then I guess you'll have to take your chance in the queue. If it's really bad, sometimes you can get lucky and pick one up by the coach park. Being young, sexy and female seems to help though :roll:

I reserved it from mondial autos... but i reserved it starting Monday morning, because it said the offices were shut at 10:00 pm.... so I thought I'd need to go pick up the car the next day.

did you pick your car, or did you have to wait?

i think mondial is only a broker.
at ibiza airport they have cars from companies like
centauro, national, hiper, europcar etc.

all these companies should be open 24hours in the main season
and august is the busiest month .
i think mondial autos only wants to charge some extra money
for "Out of hours: 20€".

don´t pick up the car the next day - that is crap because you loose a lot
of precious ibiza-vacation-time travelling back and forth to the airport
and you have to wait/pay for a taxi.

talk to these guys that you want/need your car at 2am !
 
over many years i have never found the office to be closed at all.ibiza is 24/7.who in the right mine is going to book a car.then have to come back to airport to pick it up...its 24hrs ok,
 
I'm arriving at 12:30 am on mon 6th aug and need a cab too!! anyone know how much it is to san an bay from the airport??

yeah know.. I got an email from them saying there is no car available before!! :roll: :roll:

very annoying... especially as most other places are booked out.

no I don't want to do this either, but there was no option.. apparantly.

The local provider is Hiper, but I have bookedwith mondial.

I'm assuming there would be car at that time, because I will be picking it up in the morning anyway.

I have sent them an email again,

So, if these offices are open 24 hours, why, when I book online does the option go from 8:00 am until 23:00??
 
Ok, so I heard back from them.

They said I won't be able to pick up my car until 8:00 am.. which is pretty silly.

To all those who said you have been able to pick up your car.. how have you been able to do this?

Am I just with a stinky car company?

Well I am female so I guess I fit part of the criteria :lol:

Where is the coach park? not right outside the airport?

if you know that mondial gives you a car from hiper -
did you try to contact hiper directly ?
