Talamanca

I've always stayed in the Playa D'en Bossa/Figueretas area as I've wanted to be close to Ibiza Town for the evening and Bora Bora for daytimes.

However, now Bora Bora is effectively no more, I don't have any real reason to hang about in Playa D'en Bossa so I was looking at staying in Talamanca as I've heard it's a far nicer beach, less touristy etc.

Would people recommend staying there, and where in particular? All the nice villas seem to have gone from what I can see. Also, how far is it to Ibiza Town?

Clara, the beach there is really nice. Its not very english and you get quite a few families there. Quite a relaxed atmosphere and lots of nice restaurants along the beach.

It would probably take about 1/2 an hour to walk all the way round the harbour at a leisurely pace, but you can also get the boat across.

That sounds perfect. Where would you recommend to stay?

Ideally, I'm after an apartment/villa for 3 people.

Dont know about accomodation for 3 (do a google search)
but I have stayed there for the last 2 years and find that it has a good balance in terms of being near to the parties but you dont feel like you are in a resort like PDB or San An, the hostel Talamnca is good clean and cheap, but the apartment we used to get is for 6 - 8 people

Funnily enough we are staying in Figueretas this year!

Talamanca is quiet, mostly Germans or Spanish. It's more residential than tourist. (It's just as hard finding somewhere to park by my apartment now as it is in August.)

It has a long beach which never gets too crowded mainly because part of it backs onto a nature reserve Ses Feixes. There are essentially two clusters of hotels. At the Marina Botafoch/Ibiza Town end there's Ocean Drive, El Corso, Argos and Hostal Talamanca. I've never stayed at any of them, but they're handy for the boat that takes you into town every 10 minutes up until 1am.

Halfway down the beach, about 5-10 minutes walk is another cluster of hotels, Playa Real, Simbad, Ses Figueres and Lux Isla. I've stayed at the last one, cheap, clean, nice poepls, quiet, but not much in the way of facilities. The beach is only two minutes away though.

I love it here. I would say, though, that it can feel a long way to walk into town in the summer. I'd get the boat. Coming back you can always stop off at Pacha or El Divino.

Thanks Nick!

Are there any good apartments with 1-2 bedrooms in either of these areas?

its a nice walk if you do it along the beach (theres a boardwalk), but a bit long..........

do you see the shadow of the plane? now follow the road till the crossroad up there and in the corner you can see that yellow building (between simbad and lux isla)!!

That apartment block is about half-a-minute from where I live. I timed it once when I walked to Bar Zuka last summer. It took 45 minutes. Of course, it all depends where in Ibiza Town you're going. Along the boad walk probably takes ten minutes. Walking all the way round Marina Botafoch is what takes the time.

So I usually get the boat which goes every few minutes up until 1am, then just as far as El Divino 'til 4am. But that takes a chunk out of the walk and you can even stop for a drink or a kebab on the way back. (Look for the music bar Keeper when you cross the road as you leave the short pier with El Divino at the end. There are a whole load of bars etc round the back.) And missing the last boat still sounds better to me than missing the last bus...

We have stayed in that apartment for the last couple of years, it is really nice. The outside terrace is great for post clubbing messiness and it is well kitted out. Make sure you get the master bedroom - it is sweet.
