Taking Speakers to Ibiza 2012

Hi All

We are looking at getting a Villa for 2012 and taking over my DJ gear. The CDJ's and Mixer etc can be taken as hand luggage throughout our group but speakers are a problem. Would it be cheaper to ship them out there with me or hire them whilst there. Iv'e looked at a few hire sites and they cost around €600 for the week!!! Anyone have experience of this or know of any companies that are not a complete rip off?

you can get some pretty powerful small speakers. i dont just mean ipod style ones , someone like JBL etc. Pay for an extra bag on the plane and wrap them up good. Speakers dont weigh that much compared to there size so should be fine
 
Thanks! What are the laws on noise and music in villas etc? I know if you have over a certain amount of people the police class it as a party but not sure on the number.
 
we're doing the same, fly out 2morrow. u need to email the villa owner to see if a sound system is allowed first, u can hire a good 350 watt system for alot less that 600 euros!!

anyways turns out we're not allowed but we're gonna hire a small set anyway (180 watt active wharfedales) im sure if its not thumpin at crazy o clock we'll be fine.....hopefully! 8)

make sure you've got decent travel insurance if your takin cdj's! Im just taking the laptop and midi controller, it all fits in a record bag so handy for takin on the plane etc.

its the peace and quite i like when you get back to the villa,not some dj miss da mix bangin out the anthems all afternoon:D
