Taking photos in clubs

i know taking cameras isnt allowed in the clubs in ibiza (unless i read it wrong) but say you whip out your phone for a couple of snaps, will you be thrown out or arent they too bothered/strict? dont fancy taking a pic on my phone and getting thrown out of a brilliant night through my stupidity!
 
If seen they will ask you to stop taking photo's. This happened to me in Space last year.

If you carry on doing it which I saw with someone they will: -

a.) Confiscate it off you
b.) Ask you to leave

At the end of the day, as much as it doesn't seem right, respect what the clubs are saying to you. For the sake of a 30-40 euro ticket it aint worth losing a phone for that, and also a very good clubbing night.
 
I've actually posed for photos in front of the 'No Camera' sign in Amnesia in full view of the bouncers and nothing was said.

They don't like u taking pics because they have their own photographers and would rather u paid for photos of urself.

In Privilege they have lockers for digital cameras but the bouncers arent allowed to confiscate ur mobile phone when they search you on the way in.

Just be carefull when u get in there :)
 
I thought the reason was so you dont accidently take a photo of someone taking drugs in the background and post it online so the club gets in trouble, well thats what some guy at space told me when I was in there haha
 
i actually forgot about this rule and in privilage last year i took a ppic of my g/f with a security man that she thought was nice looking lol.he never said anything and posed for the pic lol.

Could well be a reason m8- but I know that Eden have their own photographers who take pics of clubbers that can be bought at Mega Music in the west end.
 
Was at the Monza opening last year and got searched in the way in. My ex had her camera in a side bit of her bag they never checked/saw. Once inside i was snapping foto's with both my phone & a camera all through the nite, many infront of bar staff & bouncers and nothing was said even when they saw the flash.
We also had a camera in Eden & was the same story once in. Can't recall getting searched going in though.
 
Being allowed to take your camera into clubs here can depend on the mood of bouncer / security ... but generally ...

Space - will make you hand your camera in on entry and even if you do get a camera in, be very subtle when taking photos as security will stop you.

Amnesia - depending on the mood of the staff, you may / may not have to hand your camera in on entry, but if you do get your camera in (and it's not hard) you can snap away without any worries.

Eden / Es Paradis - Should be no problem

Privilege - Again, a bit like Amnesia. I think they operate a no-camera policy but it can be pretty lax. Once inside, you probably won't get stopped but you may have trouble getting it in.

Pacha / El Divino - not too sure, anyone know ?

DC10 - go crazy with those pics baby, they'll be some of the best you'll get !

The reason for these clubs not allowing cameras in is because they all have in-house photographers who are trying to sell their own photos.
 
Dan, you hit the nail on the head with that summary.

I don't know about El Divino, but you will have absolutely no problem taking photos in Pacha. They don't care whatsoever. It is a very camera friendly club.
 
That's interesting about Pacha, i don't really go there too often to be honest but i would've guessed that camera would be hard to get in ...

Just goes to show that you shouldn't assume anything :)

I personally think it's pretty harsh not letting people take cameras into any club, considering how much they pay to have a decent holiday and including tickets, drinks etc.

It's not too much to let them take their own holiday pics right ?
 
I had no problem with El Divino any time I went. Eden opening party in 05 was fine. Pacha, I have pics and video from my camera. Was afraid to take it to Amnesia, but everyone had them (if anyone knows Joele from Miami let me know, Deb and I are in her pics and I lost her email!!!!) Space I didn't take it there, but people always seem to have them. I get searched so well, I even had my eyedrops taken away. If it was in a girls purse it would be easier.
 
Celebs perhaps?

I allways thought it was because of VIP/Celeb people inside the clubs and perhaps the drugs. Never been asked around for a picture inside anyway.
 
what about video

and what about shooting video? ok... they have own photographers... but not video operators ) on my holidays i `m shooting only video on my photocamera...and then i make mini videoreport )
what will you advise?
 
I thought it was only certain clubs, Space and Amnesia, as I had no probs taking my camera to Eden or Pacha last year, in Space they made me pay to hand it in and get a ticket and then re-claim it at the end of the night, fu**kin ridiculous, I was pretty pissed off as my holiday photos are sooo important to me and I love looking through them when I get back, its a bloody stupid rule, I'm going to stash it away neatly this year in Space and Amnesia and sneak it in anyway, but I think there will be no probs elsewhere.
 
Have had no problems with camera in Space and El Divino. In Space the last couple of years I've recorded videos and the dancers have loved it and played to my camera, got some fab pics to boot!

In fact on La Troya website last year there was a photo of me, camera in hand taking pics of the amazing cowboys and girls!!!!!

Watch what you are doing at Privilege too. They make you put it in a locker.

They let me in with my camera phone which was a 3.2 megapixel (nearly as good as my digital camera.)

I can't see the f*cking difference really

No that aint the reason.

When you see P.Diddy getting out of a car at Pacha he is looking for a camera! :lol:

Them celebs love the publicity and so do the clubs!
