Headed up to Perth and checked into the hotel. Got the shuttle bus over to the site and was in for just after 3:30 (meaning i missed Mylo  )

Generally just bummed about for while, having a few pints. One of Lauras friends had been bought a camping entrance ticket and due to a shortage of armbands had to wait 1 and a half hours.

The group I was with wanted to see Keane so ambled over with them. Were good but not a big fan myself. I departed for the Slam tent but got distracted by the Bacardi Bar on the way and stayed for a wee session with Kerri Chandler. Some cracking tunes getting played in there.

Headed into the Slam tent for some Tiga action! Don't ask me what was played cos i was onto the red wine by this point and it all got very messy. Safe to say tho that Tiga rocked it big-style. Next they changed it and Felix da Housecat was on next. Another absolute rocking set. Right up the front, arms a waving!

Left to meet Laura and 1 of her pals and tried to get into Basement Jaxx. Ended up rushing the tent and squeezing in...without Laura. Had to head back out and squeeze back in with her! Basement Jaxx were good but have heard better sets from them!

Sunday

Tried to get to the site earlier this time - intending to see Scissor Sisters. However, needed JD and the off-licenses were shut till 12:30 so missed the SS. Took up position a fair ways back for Franz Ferdinand (the crowd for them was immense - and this was before 3pm!!!!). Again, nota huge fan of FF but was a really good performance they put on.

After some more pints - everyone headed to Groove Armada in the Slam Tent. All but Laura and her sister were going to try to get in but as we ambled over, could see that there were huge queues. Lauras brother in law was at the front of our procession with me behind him - then we saw everyone rushing at the fence between 2 entrances.

As we got there 3 of 4 fences down were already being put back up - so we leaped over the remaining downed fence and sneaked under the tent. Cost me half my pint doing this but managed to hold on to my bottle of JD & D-Coke!!. And how glad was i we got in! GA were amazing, best set of the weekend up to that point and just a fabulous atmosphere. Messiness had set in but At The River, Easy and I See You Baby were tremendous. Finished with (at my request) a rousing version of Superstylin'.

Brother in law left but i stuck around for an acid-tastic Josh Wink set which included what seemed like a 10 minute version of Higher State at the end!

The highlight of the whole weekend forme came with Pixies! the 3 lads in the group headed into the fray and what a set - seemed like 20+ songs, everyone a classic and such a good set. Managed to get within a metre of the front and giggled my ass off as i leaped around.

After that it was a dash to the Tuts stage for Orbitals last UK gig. Another closed tent due to overcrowding - but managed to get in for last 2 tunes including Chime!!!

Tried to get into Chemical Brothers but Slam tent was full (again) and couldn't get in there.

All in all - a cracking time. Good company, good music and some really messy moments.

Glad you had a good time.

I'd heard that people weren't able to get into some of the tents when the bigger acts were on which is always a pain. I'm surprised Orbital were squeezed into the King Tut's tent, especially when it was their farewell gig.

Watched some of it on BBC3 and tried to not get too jealous!

Glad you had fab time Scott, we saw some of it on TV last night and it looked great :D

And isn't Kerri Chandler the Daddy :D

he was excellent but i realy wanted to catch Tiga as i'd heard good reports about him so Slam Tent it was

was excellent festival but the Slam tent continually closing was ridiculous

reports from people inside for the Chemicals say it was nowhere near full!!!!

nice review.
I guess T in the park is somehting i should be considering upon my next arrival to the UK :D

T was excellent all round this year - usually either really good bands OR DJ's but we got both this year. I'm sure I must have spotted macdonsj at one time over the weekend because I followed pretty much the same schedule he did! Josh Wink's set was indeed 303-tastic and his mix-up of Higher State, I Am Ready and Are You There? at the end was the perfect closure to his set. He's been a favourite for years since I saw him in Ibiza with DJ Dimitri for Wobble (remember them?) at Es Paradis. This is the first time I've seen him for years and he didn't let me down. Other highlights were Zutons, Wu-Tang, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters and Goldie Lookin Chain who were a great "hangover" cure with their hilarious lyrics, first on the Main Stage on Sunday morning.
"Hands in the Air Moment" has to go to Faithless "Insomnia" with about 25000 people going mental at the Main Stage on Saturday - never seen anything like it in 11 years at T :D
Bring on next year :!:

the 3 dance tune highlights were

Groove Armada - At The River (blissed out!)
Groove Armada - Superstylin' (leap-tastic)
and
Josh Wink - Higher State....
