I went snorkeling / scuba diving so many times and never thought about this potentially happening if the driver is not looking who is on the rear of the boat.

Accidents happen at home and abroad - last year, the famous Princes Club was shut down for the best part of the late season after someone fell off an inflatable and was run over by the boat and killed as it came round to pick her up. There was a ski/wake competition on at the time and the driver had no spotter on the boat, just a rear-view. Should have been idling back round anyway ?!!

Don't know what happened here as far as observation is concerned in this case but never ever go out behind a speedboat on the sea with a captain who doesn't have a (sober) spotter on board. It's bad enough with all the boat traffic which at times can be very dangerous when you're doing watersports (or even worse snorkelling in more remote areas).

Just dont go in the water by boats, i dont trust them at all
