Surely Chavs & Beer Boys can't be everywhere?

Hi,

Some advice on a couple of questions would be much appreciated, 'cos we haven't even got to Ibiza yet & it sounds like we've made our first mistake ... we're staying in San An. We are 2x 30yr old Ibiza virgins into harder house. We're there for a week beginning Sat 28th and are keen to have someone give our itinerary a once over & answer a couple of questions. Any advice will be gratefully recieved.

The plan is not to go anywhere spesh on Sat night & wait to go to Space at about 2 on Sunday ... and that's about it so far. It sounds like DC10 is a must do, but Circo Loco or Timo Mass ... is Miss Moneypenny's any good and is Cream worth going to anymore or is it over run with beer boys? We'd also like to get to Slinky, but are a bit unsure of what sort of crowd would turn up given its at Eden...

We'd also like to know what the deal is with clothes in clubs, esp ones at night. From the boards it sounds like shorts are ok in day clubs, but I don't imagine they'd be very well accepted at somewhere like El Divino?

I think that's about it, if there're nights that I've missed that you reckon we'd enjoy please let us know,

Thanks!

Dont worry that you're staying in San An, its not as bad as everyone makes out to be. There are not beer boys and Chavs everywhere. And you can always go ther places, no matter where you're staying.

Definately go to Space, cant give you advice about Cream etc, never been. I went to Miss Moneypennys last year, and I think Lottie was playing, too hard for me, but you may enjoy it ;)

I'd give Eden a miss, have been a couple of times, and the clubs not all that, and you tend to get the overspill of the west end in there, not that I'm slagging it off  ;)

I know I saw people in shorts and that at eden, but El Divino people tend to make more of an effort, and its all down to youon how you want to look.

Enjoy your trip 8)

Cool shorts are ok for Space/DC10, but other than that, i would save your shorts for the beach.

P.S. Roger Sanchez at Pacha is also a good option for a Monday night ;)

subliminal pacha on wednesdays os a must also (even if your not into funky stuff) pacha is like a labyrinth - ive been three times and i still dont know where anything is! youll spend the entire night discovering new rooms

If you like the music harder but would like a more mature crowd to the cybers etc at the hard house nights, why not try some techno nights, I'm sure these would be right up your street.

Try Cocoon on a Monday night @ Amnesia

or

Carl Cox's night on Tuesdays at Space 8)

Carl Cox

I can totally recommened carl cox at space. top draw night! :D not sure if you'll like it being into hard hosue though.. sayin that, I like my prog and carl cox does it every time for me!

Agree with both of those always top nights especially if Richie is playing Cocoon. Sven Vath sometimes gets a bit carried away with posing rather than banging out the tunes.

Slinky at Eden is mainly full of the locals but if your into cheesey dave pearce then worth a night out there. you cant not go Cream i went last week of July and although it was packed didnt think the crowds were that bad as long as you find a spot to the side of the dancefloor. Dress to impress at El Divino leave the shorts behind here.

Cream did have a lot of beer boys in there, but they were fairly well behaved, forgetting their annoying songs on the bus, made me embarrassed to be British, but inside it was the italians who pretended that other people didn't exist at Cocoon which annoyed me more

Went to Slinky last week and had a great night (Ok, I admit it I do like cheesy DP). Yes there were some beer boys, (one in particular who spent the night being sick behind me) but its not "mainly full" of them. On the whole it is a reasonable "clubbers" crowd.

I would accept that Eden is the tattiest of the big clubs. But if you want a night at a San An club to save on taxi or bus fairs across the island (I don't think Es Paradis has got much of a line up this year) you could always try Garlands Disco Hospital on a Tuesday at Eden. The nights at Eden also tend to be cheeper than most of the other big clubs.

PS. I think Eddie Halliwell is due to play on some of the up and coming Slinky nights too.

I hope you enjoy your 1st visit wherever you decide to go.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!

Some wicked advice there and pretty much all Q's sorted, cheers.

Not much feedback on DC10 though, even a suggestion that we shoud head to Cocoon on the Monday instead... If anyone has got any opinions on or has been to DC10 we'd be keen to hear a bit of a review.

dc10 on a monday is more a daytime thing whereas cocoon is the night time.

Personally i'd opt for just doing dc10, as i think carl cox at space is my preffered choice for a techno night, and cox is dirt cheap!

other nights i would certainly check out would be subliminal at pacha on a wednesday. if you are mostly into trance, the techy, synthy subliminal house sound isnt a million miles away and would be the best choice if you are new to house music. it certainly was for me when i was only into trance and progressive.

cream at amnesia on a thursday is an unmissable spectacle imo, tho personally i'd only go if the night features van dyk and tiesto, sometimes the cream line ups seem a bit hit and miss imo.

the last must do, or infact out of all the clubs, the only one i'd say is a must, is welovesundays @ space. it rocks hard, and even if you arent totally into house, the experience is worth it alone.

DC10.......you have got to do it! Very mixed crowd, awesome sound system & of course some messy people. Music is tribal house but you never know who is going to play. I only went clubbing once in two week stay this year. I've done all the clubs before but DC10 is the only one I really wanted to do again! I recomend u get there mid day or later when the terrace opens. The terrace really kicks off about 3pm and continues till about 10pm. It's a mad place where anything go's(within reason) I can't recomend it enough.
Any more DC10 questons post away!
