SuperMartXé...Opinions?

Hey All

Heading to Ibiza for another year but want to try some new parties I've not previously been to or even considered.

Everyone talks about Supermartxe but i know nothing about it except they put on a pretty impressive show.

I get the impression it might be a gay night, am i wrong? What is the crowd like?

Also what kind of music should i expect?

Either way there's plenty of decent other options but thought it might be a good shout for a change.

supermartxé is indeed about the show. they have a huge theatrical thing going on on the big stage of privi's main room which is definitely worth seeing. the music is a very mixed bunch and pretty mainstream, say a lot of the commercial house tunes and also pop mashups. very mixed crowd too, with a pretty big spanish contingent. and yes, there is a fairly large gay community present. i guess this year they'll congregate more in the second floor, vista club, which this summer is a 100% gay zone called 'SuperMan'.

it's a fun night to do - definitely privilege's busiest night this summer so a good chance to see it in full swing. nothing for underground heads though as it doesn't cover this side of the musical spectrum.
 
I thought it was great. As stivi says very mainstream but it was a great option when the other nights are pretty hardcore..nice break. Yes there are lots of gay people but that is what makes it cool in my view. I think most nights in Ibiza we have gay people and that's what's make it special...everyone are themselves and no one is labeled, judged etc.

Yeah doesn't both me the fact that a lot of gay people go anyway as long as its a good fun crowd. It's more about trying a different night, most of my nights are underground and a few of the guys im there with this year do have a soft side for the commercial side of things...this could be a good shout.

you should try...it is wonderful fun and i sense you'll like. Totally different...put it this way, i dont know anyone that has went and had a bad time....enjoy!
 
^^ Agree ... and the music although commercial has in the past been quite Spanish-influenced and even I managed to enjoy the show without being driven out the door by the soundtrack ! It does need to be busy to work though.

The Supermartxe-themed bar in Dalt Vila is a hoot too. Got lost trying to find my way to Sa Penya from the unfeasibly tight parking I blagged at the bottom on Saturday and wound up asking directions off a beefcake waiter beckoning for business in hotpants, black boots and bunny ears. Just as well I was feeling self-assured :lol:

terrific nite ... privilege at full speed !!
main dancefloor full till 7... good performance from offer nissim in vistaclub, too.
only thing crap was the intro with some lame rnb or whatever singer and that the stage now is mostly an animation, not plane or haunted house or whatever like back in the day.
some megadancers on stage plus ususal stuff like girls in glasses, people hanging from the ceiling etc
30 euro entrance = worth every cent
