Wondered if anyone knows if you can still drink on the rocks in the sunset strip in the evenings? It's been a couple of years since I have been and I hear they have cracked down on public drinking????
 
Everyone was. Whether you are meant to or not or what the law is I can't say.

Didn't see any crackdown. May be more aimed at the West End but I didn't go there. That being said people were glugging drink and walking around openly doing so at different parts of the day and it didn't seem to be a problem.
 
Was there 2 nights ago. Yes everybody drink on the rock. There are few mambo 'control' guys on the rock so I guess the rock area is permitted to drink. I've seen the signs for sitting bench on the rock are for mambo customers.

Anywhere else are not permitted to drink in public. I was in the square next to West End I saw a police man took a bottle of beer away from a guy and binned it!

Just use your common sense, don't bring out glass bottle out of drinking boundaries and you'll be fine. Bouncers carry stack of plastic cups and will give you one to fill up from bottle then you can drink outside
