Firstly I have to say I have never watched this channel in my life but stumbled on it by accident when switching between ITV's "Make your play" / "the Mint", late night shopping on QVC and continual reruns of 6 year old Slinky and Gatecrasher video's on Rapture
This channel seems to be a sort of youtube on Sky,that is all I can decipher so far.
This week though they have been running various short films on Drug awareness.I switched on a few as the titles sounded interesting and for whatever reason I always find drug related programs quite interesting in the story they tell.(zamo in Grange Hill a particular favorite)
Anyway to my surprise the short films are all from the 50's and 60's and although they are trying to make a serious point they are so outdated and in some case outrageous in context of what we know today that they are highly amusing and quite compulsive viewing (in that way that something so retro can be)
Last night I watched the 15 mins story of how "Jonny" fell into bad ways with his addiction of "opium" following a "natural progression" from "reefers" which his dealer (complete with 3 piece suit watch chain and monical!) had supplied him
One on last night fetured an army platoon taking "downers" and "Halluceogenic Stimulants" by showing the effects in grainy black and white film it was a stern warning on the effects of LSD and Barbituates
Don't miss the film "Reefer madness" on tonight at 3am, perfect post clubbing TV
