Summer Holidays

Can anyone suggest somewhere nice and relaxing to go on a summer holiday next year - its going to be mine and the fellas first holiday away and we really just want somewhere hot and relaxing.

Ive been to a few places in Greece and always like Greece (mostly for the temperature and friendly people), and of course Ibiza  but not sure if thats really the ideal place........but then saying that there could be a hidden part of Ibiza I dont know about?

We cant decide whether to just stay in Europe or go further afield (the furthest afield I have been is the northern part of Cyprus (!) and hes been Cancun Mexico) so really I should broaden my horizons just a bit but dont know where to start looking. I think my ideal destinations would be Miami or Brazil. But again have no idea.

Im very bored at work so thought it was the perfect time to start looking for holidays

The cold is also making me want to do it even more :?

If Ibiza is not on your list, you could try the following for a relaxing time:

Kefalonia -beautiful place - very laid back

Agious Goiurdos in Corfu - beautiful little spot, amazing sunsets, great beach bars and restaurants - and again very relaxing.

Been to both in the past year and loved them both, the latter we picked out as we were afetr somewhere relaxing too..8)

You can easily do Ibiza for a nice relaxing holiday - I am planning our June Ibiza hols at the moment and with the exception of We Love Sundays (and maybe one other club) it's going to be chilled and relaxing - there's a million and 1 things to do away from the clubs.

I wouldn't bother with far and away places for a summer break, leave them for the winter when they are nice and hot with guaranteed good weather rather than being unpredictable!!

Italy would be my choice.

Great Food.
Great Wine.
Great People.
Great Weather.
Great laid back life.

Actually everythings great.

If you want to relax fly to Naples go to the Amalfi Coast for a week and then go to Sicily or Sardinia for another week.....pure bliss.

Alternatively the north to south trip by train that we did....Venice, Florence, Rome and then Sorrento, we did it in 2 weeks which is a little bit of a rush, 3 would make it more relaxing!

Yeah I did think about this, as I do love the island. Would just need to explore where to stay rather then awful San An Bay we stayed in this year :spank:

Where abouts did you stay, I have found some lovely apartments in Lassi, but im not sure if it would be too lively - one report says it can look like a scene out of Blackpool

Coratia and Serbia/Montenegro are supposed to be really beautiful places to visit now. My friends went to Montenegro last year and said it was amazing, so romantic :)

Blackpool? really? I'm sure i stayed in Lassi and it was quiet.

I didn't go peak season mind you.

I thought it was lovely. Argostoli , the main town, although it is small, has a huge square surrounded by restaurants and bars. But it is very family orientated and pictureque.

Lovely place, not at all rowdy.

Koutulafari in Crete is an ideal spot, some of the finest Restaurants ive ever dined in, and away from the general madness of Hersonniss (Koutulafari is up the top of the mountain in Crete)was there with the ex in 2004 and had a very nice relaxing time (although i insisted on going to the Irish bar when the football was on:lol::twisted:)

South of France, a wee campsite about a mile from Antibes (called Camp Du Pylone iirc). Its half an hour from Nice airport, so pretty handy, caravans are pretty cheap and theres a nice wee bar on site with a pizza/crepe place.

Theres a train station right outside the campsite which takes you all the way to ventimiglia in Italy, other cool places to stop and check out (for a couple of euros a time) include Monaco, Nice, Villefranche Sur Mer, Menton, Eze Village, Cannes (by bus, 20 minutes away), Antibes itself of course and you can go visit St Tropez/Port Grimaud on a booze cruise (bout an hour away in a coach).

Highly recommended. Been twice. Have put off going back until I've another ball and chain.

I think the report I read was probably a one off - all the other reports/reviews were really positive so I am definitely thinking about looking into it further.

I saw some in Argostoli too and it looked lovely.

Thanks for all the ideas guys
