Hey folks, Im looking for some good spoken word files, no background music or anything. Im not talking about that slam poetry stuff - which can b good in its own right. Im just looking for interesing interviews or spoken word artists to download. To be honest I don't really know exactly what Im looking for, if you like i suppose im fishing for some stuff to sample and i thought id go down this road.

any suggestions for things to download are appreciated.

Henry Rollins (the ex lead singer of Black Flag) did a cool spoken word CD called 'Get in the van'. I was quite a big Rollins fan when I first heard it, but remember there being some pretty quotable stuff in there..

soulseeks already pointing at some henry rollins now, ive also got some SHIT HOT Hunter S Thompson stuff :D

Quite fancy taking several Thompson stories and cuttng them up to make my own story, and setting it over background music... could be interesting (or really shit) either way I'll let you know :)

but keep the suggestions coming folks 8)

hehee prob not what you're lookin for but i'm an ivor cutler fan. His older stuff is so off the wall, esp with his classic scottish accent.

guess im just gonna have to dig through films etc. its hard to get away from the popular, ie. bill hicks, rollins etc. its probably been done a million times before. im gonna cue up a list of obscure dvds on my blockbuster online thing and get ready to sample 8)
