Manumission present 'The Story Of M'

Following months of speculation, Manumission are happy to confirm that they have signed a new four-year contract to remain in Privilege, their venue of the last 10 years. To celebrate the tenth Birthday in Ibiza of the world's biggest club night, Manumission present for your pleasure - 'The Story Of M' - an erotic masterpiece, played out at 24 weekly parties…

Part one will take place over 12 weeks in Ibiza from Monday 5th July through to Monday 20th September. Part two will take place in New York, opening on Wednesday 24th November, the eve of the Thanksgiving holiday. This massive departure marks Manumission's first event outside of Ibiza for ten years. 'The Story of M' is a trans-continental, spiritual and erotic journey of enlightenment. The action takes place on the huge Privilege stage, which has been transformed into a giant doll’s house, and on specially-installed video screens. Our Guru's mission is to help everyone who attends the club to attain their own Manumission - or freedom from slavery - by helping them transcend the dualities of pain and pleasure.

The Main Room

The music in the main room will complement and contribute to 'The Story Of M'. All the DJs are residents, with Colin Peters, Griff and Alfredo spinning a deliciously broad selection of house music in all it myriad forms.

The Music Box

The Music Box boasts Ibiza's most cutting-edge music policy, and in 2004 Manumission will continue the successful policy of showcasing exciting and often unlikely live acts in the back room. We are proud to announce that the new live residents for 2004 will be The Ju Ju Babies. They will be playing their kooky brand of twisted electropop, alongside such innovative live acts as Goldie Looking Chain, (5th July), Loose Cannons, (12th July), Junior Sanchez's band, Output, (26th July), Har Mar Superstar, (2nd August), LCD Soundsystem, (6th August) and Infadels, (9th August). Others will be confirmed shortly.

The Music Box will also feature some excellent guest DJs fusing electro-tech, dirty house and trashy breaks. They will include Ivan Smagghe and the raucous Queens of Noize (5th July), Ewan Pearson (12th July), Wall Of Sound DJs, (9th August), Tim Sheridan, as a semi-resident and Colin Peters playing alternate weeks.

The Candy Bar

The Candy Bar will once again be buzzing to the sound of camp electro, with residents Andy Carrol, Smokin’ Jo, Colin Peters, (alternate weeks), and Dean & the Northern Monkey. There will also be one guest slot every week, with the likes of Fatboy Slim, (16th August), David Guetta and Mark Moore indulging in an atmosphere of ‘anything-goes’ hedonism.

Carry On @ Space

And Manumission wouldn’t be Manumission without everyone piling down to the obligatory Carry On afterwards. This year's theme is 'Carry on Classics', which revisits the very first Carry On parties from ten years ago. Each week will have a different theme, like 'Carry on Doctor', 'Carry on Teacher', etc. The heady mix of sleazy electro, club classics and dirty house will be provided by DJs like Colin Peters, Tim Sheridan and Alfredo.

Also…

Manumission will also be celebrating our 10th birthday by staging the event of the summer - a special one-off Birthday Party at Privilege on Friday 6th August. Details to follow on a separate release. And as if this wasn't enough to be getting your teeth into, this year Manumission will also be staging a couple of separate, one-off gigs in Privilege. These gigs will be part of the build up to much more frequent live events, organized by Manumission in Privilege in 2005. Again, more details to follow on a separate release.

I'll be surprised if it works in New York.

why?

As soon as the New York authorities find out what Manumission is, what it was like, and that there's now a NY party they'll try and close them down. Bureaucratic politics interfering in something they don't like.

why ? it's not like they do the sex shows anymore, besides NY has many slutty sex clubs and performances that make manumisison look like a butlins red coat show.
having said that I can't imagine manumission working anywhere other than privilege, recently when there were rumours of it moving to amnesia everybody said manumission IS privilege and more importantly, manumisison IS ibiza. Good luck to them though
