Birmingham, UK based Steve Gerrard will be the first dj to launch Nascent Recordings' new compilation series, 'Thinking Out Loud' which is scheduled for release next week. The double mix cd will consist of selected progressive and breakbeat tunes Gerrard has showcased in recent sets as well as new material that will be delivered via Allen & Health's high quality club mixer, the Xone:V6.
Steve Gerrard's djing career was launched after he won Muzik Magazine's prestigious Bedroom Bedlam award in 1998 followed by the Ericsson Muzik Award for Best Bedroom Bedlam DJ in 2000, putting him in the Bedroom Bedlam club with Paolo Mojo and James Zabiela.
A nu breed dj with inspiration from Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren and Hybrid, Gerrard played the first ever Xpander party in 2001 and in recent times, Gerrard's been touring with John Digweed on his Bedrock university tour in the UK, sharing residencies with Steve Lawler and promoting his own weekly club nights.
The 'Thinking Out Loud' compilation will present some of the best tracks by international electronic producers including Holland's Matthew Dekay, Turkey's Subsky, Canada's Benz & MD, Greece's Dousk, as well as Pappa & Gilbey, Burufunk, JDK, Fitalic and Shiloh.
