Stamp Out Yobs for 30p...

this advert makes me sick

effing 'traditional values' with a straight wedding at the start really gets my goat. Basically 'we're homophobic'

using black people before a section on immigrants 'we're not racist really'

smacks of stupid justifications lapped up by the typical middle england that reads the express and holds britain back from being the nation it could be by moaning and twitching their curtains and having a ridiculously reactionary attitude based on fears of the unknown.

Whilst I hate the thought of liking the DE, I realise it's because I (and most of the other haters IMO) exaggerate their opinions, because poeple tell me they're "typical middle england that reads the express and holds britain back from being the nation it could be by moaning and twitching their curtains and having a ridiculously reactionary attitude based on fears of the unknown." (nice sweeping generalisation btw ;) )

Or they're just normal people like you and me that have an opinion. Which isn't all that bad. They're only seen as being afraid IMO of the 'unknown' by the (look at me aren't I different) types that are afraid to be regarded as 'normal, iyswim.

Not necessrily my bag. But they are of some normal, well rounded people who I respect.

I realise I was generalising, but I still dislike the opinions the express (and the mail) perpetuates amongst its readers, much of which is based on fear of the unknown/change and quite often one sided journalism written as to not challenge reader's opinions, i.e. immigration, GM food, gay marriage etc

Yeah, I all newspapers are like that though. They're just money making circulation whores, really. It's all a bit chicken and egg with their writing opinions though. I.e. they're (all newspapers) are only writing to those who 'want to hear it' iyswim. There are better and worse ones though.

As a completely different sidenote, I keep forgetting to say thanks for the PM on Fire in Vauxhall, was very thoughtful ;)

cheers

no probs re: fire PM! hope it helped!!!

it is a chicken and egg system, but then newspapers don't tend to make much of a profit. The tabloids do, but the broadsheets don't (telegraph is only profit making broadsheet). Hence why most tabloids are pretty much writing what people want to hear (as is the telegraph you might say.. although I can't comment on that!)

Daily Express & Daily Mail.....................Pah. Complete tosh both of them.

60 odd pages on the scourge of imigration, binge drinking, homosexuals, single parents, recreational drugs and how they are combining to bring about the downfall of Britain and the end of society as we know it - Oh and an absolute sh1te load about the extended Royal Family and a their associated hangers on as well.

Truly the bigots favorite paper.
