In January! 8O :?

Global warming scares me.

Summer 2007 predicted to be the hottest on record (again)...anyone else finding the sudden acceleration of hot weather frightening?

yes frightening... but I love hot hot hot hot summers... so I'll be smiling if it really is the hottest 2007 on record!:)

Yes its very worrying.. I love the Sun but somehow I don’t think ill enjoy baking in it this year if I know its destroying the Earth… very Scary indeed..

Yup, I'm worried.......so I'm booking up flights to see the world before it's gone!

:? :? :? (I fly loads as well - not sure how to make this feel ok as I read in the Guardian that offsetting carbon emissions is like kicking a baby and then taking it to the NSPCC.)

If you lived in Spain you wouldn't feel that happy, every summer is worst and worst
Spring lasts for a couple of weeks, same for autum, and winter seems to not exist. Try to live four months in the hot hot weather, with high humitidy levels and feeling sweaty, exhausted and dehidrated and not being able to sleep without air con, which you know is really bad for global warming

Actually I have lived in a very hot humid climate... and I loved it... most people thought it was uncomfortable... but I say its better than winter!:)

How long and where, if I can ask?
I wouldn't like a canadian winter, but something in between your cold winter and our too hot summer would be perfect for me. :D

Second that... I can't say I'm really hating global warming right now! Best winter here ever...

Especially since the climate here is [normally] the polar opposite of what Silvia described above

Being selfhish or just thinking about my inmediat comfort, I agree with you that global warming is good. But going a bit further is really scary.

I lived in southern Japan for 3 years.. about 35 degrees every day in summer with incredible amounts of humidity..i lived about 50 m from sea. The floors at work were so wet from all the humidity and I had about 7 de-humidifiers in each room in my house that filled up with water and I had to empty them all every week (that part was annoying!) I remember sitting at work and just feeling wet from all the humidity!

Still I'd take that any day over minus 30!:)

I've always liked hot hot weather... People laugh at me because apparantley because I'm Canadian I'm supposed to love living in an ice box :?

Yuk. Southern japan sounds like hell to me
We spen 3-4 months with humidity between 85-95 and the temperature is around 30. My average of showers per day is 3
I don't like hot hot weather, if winter didn't mean short days, I would prefer it to summer.
I think we just wish what we can't have ;)

Well, ya... that too  I wasn't being entirely serious.

Though there are some that say we're just emerging from another ice age, as opposed to entering uncharted territory.

In any case, don't worry about the Earth. She'll be fine. Once we've killed ourselves off, she'll renew herself and new species will grow and all will be well :D
