Some things to consider when planning a window display to celebrate what is meant to be Britain's long-awaited summer of sport....
Businesses risk a £20,000 fine if they use specified signs or representations relating to the forthcoming Olympic Games in their marketing or for other business purposes.
Businesses must not use the following:
The Olympic or Paralympic symbols.
The London 20...12 Olympic and Paralympic emblems.
The London 2012 mascots and sports pictograms.
The words 'London 2012', 'Olympic', 'Olympiad', 'Olympian', 'Paralympic', 'Paralympiad' and 'Paralympian' (and their plurals and words very similar to them, such as 'Olympix').
The words ‘games', ‘two thousand and twelve', ‘2012' and ‘twenty twelve' if used with each other or with the words ‘gold', ‘silver', ‘bronze', ‘London', ‘medals', ‘sponsor' or ‘summer'.
The words 'Citius Altius Fortius' / 'Faster Higher Stronger' or ‘Spirit in Motion' (the motto for the Olympics and Paralympics respectively).
The Team GB, ParalympicsGB, British Olympic Association or British Paralympic Association logo.
