space openings:june 4 and june 18.what's the difference?

cant comment unfortunately, never been to the space opening before, only WLS opening a few years back. but if i had to choose for this year id defo pick the space opening over WLS.

They're both good. Space opening is always good cos it's the first big opening of the season, it attracts a more European crowd, I personally don't rate the line-up @ Space Opening as much cos it's normally quite samey but that's just my musical taste.

WLS Opening attracts a more English crowd, I prefer the line-ups cos the music is likely to be more diverse.

Also, I prefer WLS Opening for a holiday cos most of the other nights open the week before/after it, I would only go to Space Opening for a long wkend as it's only really Space and DC10 that are open of the main nights.

Not really, a lot of the residents are the same. Space always has Sasha, Digweed and Carl Cox for their Opening - none of who I particularly rate hence me preferring WLS Opening and the line-ups they have.
 
its my first time @ WLS opening, and also my first time seein james zabiela on the decks, been waitin a while to see this kid, whats he like? am i in for a treat?

I think he's rubbish :twisted: but everyone else seems to rate him. I should imagine he'll be playing inside but now there's so many extra rooms @ Space I'm sure I'll manage to avoid him :lol:

lol cheers for that, i've got a few of his sets from what i've heard he's hit and miss with me so i'll have to wait and see.. By the time he comes on i may well have forgotten hes on LOL...

Tbh I don't think that's the best WLS Opening line-up by a long mile :? I like Dan Ghenanica and Paul Woolford but they're not really 'big' names. I'm not really sure who the 'big' guests on the new terrace are :? as I'd assume Dave Clarke, James Zabiela and Tiefschwarz are all inside :? Jon Ulysses is always good on the terrace.

For me, it's all about the following weeks WLS when Sneak is playing :D :D :D

i thought dave clarke a techno dj which is not for me!! tiefschwarz is decent but as you say im a bit confused as to who's gonna be on the terrace on the afternoon.. Whatever happens im sure i'll enjoy it..

Dave Clarke is techno so he'll be inside along with James Zabiela. I think Tiefschwarz are doing some dates inside and some on the new terrace.

I should imagine the old (sunset) terrace will have the likes of Jon Ulysses and the other Space residents and then the likes of Paul Woolford and Smokin' Jo on the new terrace........but there still doesn't seem enough DJs on the line-up :? Fingers xd Dazza Hughes might have another big name to announce on the new terrace.

Tbh tho regardless of who's playing you cannot fail to have a good time @ Space can you :D

this is true :o its not a bad lineup for my first trip of the year only 2 more after that one yeeehaaa:twisted:
 
The parking lot at the reg opening is sick... puts it out of wls opening's league in my opinion... and i prefer the more mainland euro crowd to the more british crowd...
 
I've seen James Zabiela play in Boston and he is amazing! He is the most technically gifted up&coming DJ and he is loads of fun interacting with the crowd and pumping everyone up. His most recent Miami WMC sets are pretty good and if you're into tech-house with breaks and scratching then he's your man!
