Space Opening Party 2013: Date TBC!

Hmm... interesting.
Will the opening weekend become an opening week? Will there be two packed opening weekends?
Or will Space get left out in the cold...
 
I don't believe this, my mates and I have spent over £1600 on flights and digs to be out there for the weekend of the 26th on the strength of Spotlight confirming this date, I guess it's pretty likely that it's gonna be the 2nd otherwise they would have said anything to the contrary, not happy...

It was the venue that confirmed the original date, not Spotlight. Lay blame where it's due!

the idea of "stretching" the space-opening was a silly idea -
and everybody on his right mind knew this b4.
or did you already forget about the (2-day)-"weekend-invasion" back in 2010 ??

space opening was/will always be about ONE day,
not 2 or more or whatever else nonsense some greedy bastids want ...
 
You missed my point, Icey.

IMS, Sankey's, Ocean Beach Club and potentially others who haven't announced are going ahead the weekend of May 24-26.

So, if Space is the following weekend - one day or two - the question is when the others (Ushuaia, DC10... even Privilege and Amnesia) will do their events. Will there end up being one or two big opening weekends? We'll have to wait and see.
 
i will freak out of they really move the date. would be one of the most ridicilous things ever. so many people booked flights, including me... they confirmed and on the IMS ticket it was mentioned too that you can buy a pass including these opening parties or something.
but still everything seems like all the past seasons, we love space, carl cox, enter all start after the same amount of weeks after the 26.5 as the last years. so i still somehow believe this was just a strange idea and they will do it like always. also because IMS and sankeys open regurally. and the Ushuaia opening seems to be on end of may too as their hotel rooms are a lot more expensiver this weekend.. but im just guessing like all the others, dont count on me.
 
suspect it is the case that Space want to do a big huge announcement and someone mistakenly confirmed the date to Spotlight prematurely

Yeah, good point - IMS ticket is supposed to give you entrance to the opening parties, including Space opening, so how is this going to work out now?

I mean what if the date is moved to the 2nd of June? Not sure if people will stay for another week just to use the "free entry"

Why would it? Loads of people as already mentioned have booked that weekend in May, if there isn't a space opening people will be dying to get into DC10 on the monday.
I still think it'll be May but no reason to stop them changing it.
