Just seen it's moved to the 31st... wow

Lots of p****d off people who have booked that weekend especially!

We booked our holiday as this would be in the middle of it, didn't pre book club tickets though, bit gutted but done opening many times and there is other stuff at IMS, Sankeys etc going on to keep us busy.

Maybe they didn't sell enough tickets?
I'm not a fan of space but here everyone said there's something...

Surely the hassle factory, changes to DJ's flights/accommodation, not to mention print and other logistical issues will total up to be far more costly than what you're suggesting.

Really don't think they would struggle with sales for their opening.

I understand that people think it could have something to do with ticket sales, but believe me it doesn't. even though there was not even one artist announced yet, the event was selling well for the originally announced date.

as you know we have a really good relationship with space and I know that changing their opening date was their last resort, they tried absolutely everything to avoid this. the hassle they have now with rebooking DJs, endure all the social media shitstorm they get because of people being upset because of f***ed up plans etc bears no proportion to maybe selling more tickets on the second weekend. I for one actually doubt they will get more people than they would have gotten for the original date and I simply know that it isn't the point at all.

I dont know the finer details of this, but were Space aware the date change could potentially happen?

If so, couldnt Space have made customers aware of this at the start of the year, so they could wait for this announcement date and plan around that? People could have then simply not booked flights until a definitive date was known.

Its not affected me personally - I go in July but feel awful for people who have planned a holiday around this.

This is a club that has recently lost ''WE LOVE'' and this latest news has hurt their reputation terribly.

Look at us all, chomping at the bit - desperate for news and announcements. We're part of that disease - putting pressure on promoters & venues for news - booking things blindly. Space wouldn't have done this deliberately. I bet they are gutted. Proper gutted. Upheaval aside, it's bad PR.

Lessons will be learned from this. Expect announcements to be held back and delayed until they are properly rubber stamped in future years.

I've booked to go for these days as well, and was especially looking forward to Space Opening as I didn't manage to make it last year, but these things happen. Getting angry isn't going to solve anything. I'm still going to Ibiza, and I'm still going to make sure I have a good time - and that's the main thing right?
Leaves it open for me to go to Benirrás Beach...so I can't complain!

What seems very strange to me is that there have been no line-up announcement so far. Thus, my guess is that that the opening date was much longer uncertain. That is what really annoying me (than they should have marked something like tbc). By the way, any news when Line-up will be announced?

It's always politics and officially no one will know the truth.
How could you arrange a lot of people being totally pissed of and disconnects with the club? Just switch the date 5 weeks before.
Refund for tickets/ re-Bookings (if so) / risk of less people after Openings on Saturday ...
there is no way to believe that Space would do that planned.
Personally I wouldn't wonder if instead of Space there will be an more luxury Club on the same ground in the next years. Match to ongoing changes in Pdb.

We will be still on the island at that weekend, but not sure about going to Space Opening. Ushuaia and Amnesia still being our favorites and would have planned our trip in an complete other way :-(

In my experience when a void appears in Ibiza it's not long before something/someone fills that space. I wouldn't be surprised if another "shock" announcement appears soon....

Listen, this is Ibiza in a nutshell and essentially why we love it so much. Commotion like this is all part of the experience and I'm sure those who have booked this weekend will still find multiple pleasures to indulge in!

No pun intended? Lol

On top of the opening being delayed, so is Clandestin to June 8th. Space is truly living up to its name! Lol
