just spent 15 hours in space with rustywoo, some other spotlighters and other friends
MENTAL!!
we got there at 1 pm - I can't stress enough how important it is TO GO THERE EARLY - loads of room to dance and the music by dieter sin plomo, tania vulcano and especially tom novy was WICKED - hide you by kosheen brought the place to its knees.
steve lawler came on at 7 for the hardest set i have ever heard him play - he boshed it out finishing with full on trance (if anyone knows the name of his last track is much appreciated - big trance number with guitar breakdown and ethereal vocals - listen to mp3 sample here) - MENTAL again - steve played a sort of
"i'm, a bit pissed off cos mr. ladeez man erick is playing 'my' closing set, so i think i'll bosh it out really hard.... over to you erick"
we pissed ourselves and just loved the dancing with room on the terrace - brilliant. the moment erick came on the terrace went from nicely full to sardines. impossible. so we went upstairs to chill.
inside blackstrobe played the most amazing tech-influenced electro house - brilliant to dance to again. after that jeff mills banged out the beats like there was no tomorrow - i found it more melodic than the last time - place went wild for strings of life.
afterwards went to see what the fuss was about with smokin jo and tim sheridan in the red room (see www-space-ibiza.es for full report) - it's difficult to get in because the bouncers are strict on numbers - but please give it a try - it is so underground/backroom cool - really intimate wicked atmosphere and funky as hell music. smokin jo doesn't usually push my buttons, but together with tim sheridan - legendary.
without doubt one of the best musical experiences i have had at space - terrace was rocking, inside was rockin, upstairs was rockin - what a day!!
p.s. i believe mike and nel made it even longer than us ;-)
