I'm really tempted :?

With the obvious ahem 'bedroom home video' aspects  and a new baby to take lots of shots of plus they seem very easy to use - record stright to DVD.

But the are big money and I know I shouldn't . . . .

Would anybody care to slag them and put me off ??

You would be saving me a fortune.

Maybe we could share one ?

Have it for a week each then meet in Carlisle to hand it over ?

Its really funny , I mentioned wanting a vid cam this lunchtime and all my work mates gave me funny looks like 'I know what you want that for !'

What a bunch of narrow minded freaks . . . as if . . . . :D

Being serious though. Can you imagine the sunset shots, the panaromas of the beaches etc you could get.

Miles more meaningful than still pictures.

PS - you were supposed to be putting me off ! :) :)

Stay away from Sony. The memorysticks suck and in general Sony is overpriced for what you get - they're still trading off reputation despite the decline in quality.

Go for Panasonic. They have 3CCD cameras (3 chips recording separate colors, as opposed to 1 chip like most consumer models) that are relatively affordable.

I've been researching a bit... lost my videocamera over the winter and am looking to buy a new one, probably next month.
