Solo Travel Recommendations

Hi,

Travelling to Ibiza Solo 31st of August to 7th of September.

Want to do a bit of everything check out the great bars, clubs, boat parties, as well as take trip to Formentara and explore the island of Ibiza.

Want to be central to the action (save on taxi costs but not too noisy) but want to keep costs down as much as possible.

My main concern is how can I meet people to go out with and socialise with?? My flights are booked now and there's no turning back!

Is it a good idea to prebook parties/ club tickets etc and are there any good packages I can buy as a solo traveller or just buy as I go?

What's the best way to get round the island on a budget, bus/scooter?

Any recommendations greatly appreciated

Many thanks ☺

Hey Hel Fos,
I was solo on the island several times and can recommend it - also on a budget level (but with a need for some quality standards).

In general "Ibiza Bus" connects the most important spots on a regular basis during the summer. If you want to explore some alternative beaches (for example in the north), I would suggest to rent a car.

My recommendation for an accomodation would be "Figueretas", it's between Eivissa and Playa d'en Bossa - both are a 15-minutes walk away (-> saves money) and there are several reasonable possibilities (meanwhile the most playasol hotels are quite ok, the most of them are renovated).

Ibiza Spotlight has some early bird offers (if you want to specifice parties), otherwise you also can buy tickets on the island.

Hi,

Thanks for the tips ☺

Did you find it easy to meet people? What's the best way of going about it and is the island safe?

Hi Hel,

Make a thread on the 'Meet Me' section on here as well. I have been on many solo trips and arranged meetups with forum members on most trips.

Use the same simple precautions you would if out clubbing in a town you're not really familiar with i.e. Don't go off with people you don't know to a club/party/place you don't know especially if you're drunk or in an 'altered state', if someone offers to buy you a drink go to the bar with them to make sure they don't put anything in it, don't accept any drugs from them and if they offer to walk you back to your accomodation make sure you insist on using well-lit, well populated areas as your route back.

DON'T hire a scooter- they are lethal especially on roads you're not used to.

I often travel to Ibiza alone and find that the best place to get to know people is in your hotel- chatting to people on the balcony or by the pool is often the best way of making connections and finding out about parties and other titbits of information such as if there are any dodgy drugs going about.

Get talking to people on here- many people leave it a bit late to book so you may find that there are forum regulars on the island at the same time as you. Besides being a mine of information they are good for helping you out if you find yourself with any problems.

After going solo to Ibiza last year my advice would be don't buy too many tikets on here, think part of the Ibiza magic is going with the flow and if you've bought to many pre-paid tickets, can hammer that abit. I missed dc10 due to going to hard on the Sunday at defected and then hooking up with a mate of a mate and her mate. Was worth it mind. Managed to get a refund for pacha on the Tuesday as we ended up going to Amnesia.

That's mint :) went over on my own last year as an early way to celebrate my 40th. You'll have a great time, just aways have your wits about you. The sun in Ibiza is really energising, do try and watch a sunset on the sunset strip in San An and visit Ibiza town during the day. Found this park in Ibiza town that have massive catti, as you can tell I like catti :)

Would recommend you celebrating your 40th in ibiza, I really enjoyed myself. There is a Facebook page for solo travellers to Ibiza, closer to the time will be links to whatapp groups, could be worth checking out.

Unless it's the opening you're unlikely to find them sold out. Boat packages can be good, but be aware you *are* stuck on a boat for several hours ;). Good way to meet people though. Like mentioned above, just go with the flow and what you feel like day to day.

The fb group is good while there to msg and find out if anyone up for something on the day. On here is good for seeing who might be out at the same time. But best advice is do your own thing and see who you bump into :)

Cool - will do :)

Don't like using the fb public page as all my other fb buddies get the messages too
